windows or linux

i think linux is best. Because we get all the source code of a software. but in graphical games u may prefer windows. thus in graphics ,linux has better softwares like compiz etc and more open source softwares.

I say you cannot say whats the best because there is a reason to use windows because you are a gamer or you like to choose than you are more into linux. This discussion about which system is better is nonsens in my opinion. I like to work with Linux. I dont like to work with windows

I use windows it is more user friendly, but linux is best but more difficult and linux is more stable than windows even when used as a server.

Both have their pros and cons. Linux is a more solid OS but Windows gets all the software, as a result of Microsoft's domination.

for security concerns, linux is better.

Microsoft has released many operating systems in the last few years.The last one which they have launched was windows vista.Since its new to the market they have discovered flaws in the operating system which can be used by hackers.I like using linux than windows as it gives more security than windows.

I worked on both nd came to a conclusion with Linux is far better than a windows operating system.. Linux have no bugs but eindows have so many bugs... In windows os a virus can attack but in linux no such attacking of virus is possible...

in my own opinion, it is linux because it's free. windows costs too much that is why piracy is prevalent in the market.

Definitely Linux. Linux is a bit difficult to use if you use windows normally, but, after some time, I can aprreciate the features of Linux like the lack of virus, Linux almost never crashes, you don't have to defragment your hard disk and almost all software for Linux is free to use.

i am currently using windows.havent used linux. so the best for me id only windows.however its know that linux is better

Linux is great for me but still Windows(r) gets the favor when it comes to universality and ease of use in terms of application and hardware. And, yes! nowadays, linux gets more user friendly but as to my experience with some Linux Distro, i still find it difficult setting up some hardwares i.e. PC camera, modem, printers, and other USB devices since very few harware manufacturers supports linux system.:) Bottom line, it seems for me that Windows still wins if an average PC user weighs the Pros and Cons between Linux and WIndows. Still, I wish Linux developers and concerned personalities can win the hears of most hardware manufacturers to let their products support linux OS.
