Alot of people asume that parvo is the end of their dog's life. No! It's not! I got Yuna when she was 6 weeks old from a local animal shelter. Before the week was up she had parvo. Vet stated she had it from the shelter. I cried about it and was pretty angry at the same time. I pushed for the answers to getting her better with out keeping her at the vet because I had not that much money to keep her there. Here is what I had to do: They gave me antibiotic. I had to get gatoraid and pedilite (both for electrolytes for energy). I had to CONSTANTLY make her take that and water from a syringe. The virus its self does not actually kill the dog...the dogs often pass away from dehydration. The key is to keep your dog hydrated for 7 days...after that dogs are in the clear. Don't give them the parvo shot while they have parvo...thats giving them a dbl dose of the virus thus will kill them faster. Has anyone had to deal with parvo? How did you deal with it?

my dog got parvo about 1 yr after we got him from the shelter. he did end up staying at the vets office for 10 days. they also told us that very rarely do they make it, even staying at the vets office. Well about $1700 later we had our mut back and now 5 yrs later hes still better than ever
