Do you argue with your family to watch your favorite TV show?

There are arguments in my house sometimes between my parents and between them and me when I want to watch my favorite TV show or when my dad wants to watch his stock news or sports or when my mom wants to watch some daily soaps.
There are no arguments when we watch a good movie together, we all enjoy it equally, or when there is a cricket match going on with INDIA playing as one of the teams.
But there are arguments when we want to watch our own TV shows.
Are there arguments in your house regarding this?

I dont have to argue because we have DVR and so I just tape all my shows and/or movies. I dont see the point in arguing over something so minor when there is much more worse things to worry about today.

I believe every household has this problem especially when they only have one TV. When we have this kind of problem, it is always settled by how many wants the same show. It is done through voting unconsciously but whenever my mom or dad choose to watch other show, we are all defeated. Nothing beats the elder right? My parents will always have the last word on what to watch so if we don't like the show, we will find some other means to make ourselves busy. Mine is through mylotting!

No, not really. Our rooms have at least one television so arguments like these can be avoided. And i'm not really fond of watching so i kinda let them choose what channel they want to watch.Ü

Watching is not my hobby and i prefer to be in front of the computer than t.v. I am not living with my family at his time so i have nothing to argue with. I do not watch tv here.
If i am with my family, i let them to watch whatever they wanted to.

That happens most of the time in our house. I live with my dad and brother and we really have different TV show preferences. They are into basketball and something sport related show. I'm not fond of watching such. So,we argue most of the time.

yes, the situation in your house is similar to that in my. Even my show preferences are very distinct from that of my parents. I love watching English action movies, my mom hates it. I love watching supernatural TV shows, but my parents dislike it. I can't help thinking about my new TV set.

Hi friend,
I think it is a common issue going on in each and every family.Even in our house,my dad loves to watch other channels which i and my mom loves to watch other channels. But sometimes dad gives us chance to watch our channels and sometimes we leave the tv to him to watch his channels. In this we all together comprise ourselves in watching the tv.In this way we all together enjoy ourselves lol.
Have a nice day

I do not! Because generally I do not like watching TV. Instead I love to pass my extra time in front of my loving personal computer. I love to participate in the discussions of myLot or sometimes I spend my time in blogging. I just watch TV if there is something important in the news.

No, there usually isn't too many arguments over tv programming in our house. we have several tv's in different rooms, so that, you can usually watch what you want. We also have DVR's to record programs to watch at a later time. Really the only time that there is ever a discussion, is when my 4 year old nephew wants to watch his kid shows on the "big tv". but once we remind him that his shows are all on another room's tv, he usually drops the whole subject.

What a great discussion, I think this is something that most people can relate to. Well yes, sometimes I do argue with my little sister, and sometimes with my mother. However, since my mom bought me a computer, I became less grounded on television. So nowadays, television became less arguable for me.

It does happen to our family. In my family, my father likes to watch sports shows, while my mother likes to watch TV series and soap opera, while, for me, I like to watch some cartoons and some music program. So we often argue with each other when watching TV.

Since i'm sharing my room with my daughter, i sometimes argue with her because she watches CARTOONS a lot. I know that it's not good to let the kids watch Rated PG shows but I can't either stay long to watch cartoons.

Well honestly there are some arguments in our house sometimes regarding who's going to watch TV. Most of the time the remote stays with me. My sister is the main person involved in the argument. I like watching sports while she wants to watch her boring serials. But after some arguing either she or I give the other the remote and start enjoying the shows together.
This is what family is all about sharing and loving each other, in every possible way.

No arguments. It is simple. My husband gets to watch what he wants when he wants. I get to watch tv if and when he is not home.
Sad really, but at least I have my internet to fall back on.

Yes, there are exactly the same arguments that go on in our house too. when my husband wants to watch something that too in week ends my daughter wants to watch something at the same time, If my son is around he also wants his preference. I do wish to watch my channel too but try to adjust with any one of these options finally.
