I am one who try all time to buy just new things, not because i am very rich, but i don t like to use second hand things, who come from other people.
I have few antiques, but this are different, are just for sentimental or historical value.
But to buy second hand clothes, for me is impossible, even are in good condition, i don t like to ware what somebody else in the past wearing too. I am not snob, but i think that i am to poor to spent money for something i can t use for long time.
Do you really like to buy second hand things? And why?

Yup! Im a bargain junkie hehe so if there are 2nd hand items that are still working great I would rather much purchase them over brand new stuff. Like Cellphones, I usually get the 2nd hand ones that are in mint conditions.I usually just buy a brand new battery for them and it's good to go. The same goes for the furnitures, 2nd hand couches and bed frames.

where do you usually buy 2nd hand phones, greenhills? cause i mostly buy only brand new. but i am considering 2nd hand also. but most low end phone that are 2nd hand are expensive too. like if i buy for example Nokia 1100. it will be around 800, then the battery if i buy a brand new batter is 800. so that is almost the same price as brand new low end phone but with better features like having color screen and polytones
but now i am planning to buy mid range phone. like nokia 3120. seems a good camera phone though i wish the screen will be little bigger. hope to find a good place to buy it around.

I absolutely love second hand things, it is like finding treasure to me. My friend always gives me her clothing because she doesn't keep them long, so I barely ever have to buy new things, it is great. When I went to Sweden last winter they had the best second hand stores ever, they actually made them like very fancy boutiques, you see more second hand stores in Sweden then regular stores, and people there are not poor, they just love that kind of thrifty fashion, and they look very good doing it! Used clothing and other things have a story, and I really enjoy wearing it and bringing that story out, it also supports recycling too, so I am definitely down with that!

I'm the younger of 3 kids so I'm use to having second hand things. I honestly think second hand is better because some things have to be broken in like some couches feel better when they have been used for a while. Also second hand things have history to them. It make the things you buy seem more interesting.

Have to say " I love thrift stores" and could care less if someone
wore it before me. To me Its great already broke in, kinda like buying a
house already painted and lived in before, u use their bathrooms when
u buy a house, that's even worse than wearing other peoples
clothes and of course never wear them until washed!!! Lol
It's so much fun to search through thrift stores, u never know what u might
find.

Even I am not so rich but i hate to buy second hand things. People sell these things because there is some problem in it so why should we buy it. Old is gold but not always. I will not buy anything rather than buying a second hand thing. Happy mylotting!

I hear you sister, that's why I do everything possible to find items on sale.
I think it's kind of gross wearing other people's clothes. You never know if
you can get sick from them or whether or not they smell and them you wonder if
you smell.

Most of the time, I will buy second-hand because I think to myself, "why pay full price for something that is going to be second-hand the minute I walk out of the store?"
I have grown up with parents who always looked to buy second-hand first. Only if it was not available second-hand would they buy new. The only exception was that clothes were nearly always bought new. Well, I suppose we had to have some luxuries in life.. - Derek

I think second hand is great and wish that I could find more things in my size when I go to garage and yard sales, since I wear larger sizes. When my kids were growing up, they might have been half naked if not for second hand clothes!! I went to one sale and bought second hand clothes for myself that looked brand new and saved a lot of money on brand name clothing that I usually don't even care if I buy or not. I will buy second hand to save money for buying other things.

Hey yeah. Plus the older stuff always has more character...as in furniture. And you wuld be amazaed at the creativity you can have while sorting through the stuff. Like a typical little wooden shelf...a small one...can easily become a trendy little spice rack for the counter...to me thrift stores are like a giant yard sale that is on-going 24 months out of the year. And I have no qualms about buying my clothing there either. I just do what I do in the department stores, check the quality of the item (make sure it is not too worn, no tears or marks on them, and the brand names.) I have been finding many branded clothing items at the thrift stores lately for a steal...I am talking about prices from $2 to 8. Cheap, but great. Also I got pair of sneaks there that I only shelled out $4 bucks for and in the stores they price for around $50. A good washing in bleach and detergent was all they needed and away I go. You have to just dig through the stuff and look for quality items. And for jeans I notice I get better quality as well as better prices by thrifting than going to buy them say even at Walmart. Because I notice a lot of times the jeans that are cheaper in the department stores are much thinner and not the styles I like.
So now once a week I go thrifting. Right now I am on the lookout for an old desk with deep drawers to put in the room I am transforming into a den/reading/writing room. I want all the items in there to be on the old side but with definite style. ANd I know I will find something classic at one of the thrift stores to fit the bill.

I buy secondhand/vintage clothes.I find it a unique experience.why?because I found several clothes that are currently in season from these secondhand/vintage stores.I also feel proud because I am the only one with that unique piece.I am proud of my secondhand finds.I just wash them with warm water, bleach, and baking soda.

yes! i don't mind wearing second-hand clothes and buying second hand things especially if i like them and they are still in perfect condition. sometimes, my brother gives me his old shoes too. since he buys a lot of shoes each year, when he disposes some of the old ones i would be the first on his list to receive it. i also buy second-hand shirts from a surplus store. it's really cheap. well, what can i say, i'm a cheap-oo kind of guy.

I dislike buying second hand things because have very bad experience about this. I bought one second hand car (1 year old) and it was giving me a lot of problems after 1 year and I had to sell it off at cheap price. Recently I bought a condo and it came with furniture and some electrical items. I had to refurbish all the furnitures because it looks awful and very dirty. As for the electrical items, I had to sell some of them and bought new ones. If I have a choice, I am not going to buy any second hand things especially clothes. Just couldn't imagine who was wearing it before - hygiene, disease, etc.

I have a very hard time buying second hand. Growing up, we had a lot of second hand things that were cheap, though they were not very good. it wasn't that we were poor, we had lots of money, just that the person who bought us that stuff thought that cheaper was better, and that they shoudln't have to spend the money if they didn't think they had to. To this day I prefer new, because I just don't trust second hand.

Indeed I love to buy second hand stuff. New things are so expensive and often the quality simply isn't there. Buying second hand gives more value for money. Many times, new things break down or give problems...if one has a used item that gives problems, it's not so bad.
If I want something badly though, I will buy it new...I've just bought an LCD flat screen TV and am excited and waiting for it to be delivered (it was on sale saving me $300)

I hear you there. Im not rich either, but i perfer new stuff. I have a friend that likes used stuff. I always tell him when you buy it new you have warrenty, used you dont. A friend of his is trying to sell him a used DVD player for $60. and it has problems. I told him dont buy that its not even working right. I can take you to costco or sams with my membership and you can get a new one for $50. I do have antique stuff too. Used clothes are ok for growing children. Unless the clothes are exceptionally rare, no way. I usually wear sarongs and you dont find them used.

Yes I do like to buy second hand things such as used games or books or something like that beause I have nowhere near the amount of money to be able to buy new things all the time. Also I'm not really bothered by wearing second hand clothes because the person that wore them before me have the same kind of skind and are a human just like me. No difference
