I don't understand why some people act differently?

Some people are always misbehaving and acting child like to create menace in mylot. This is very disturbing to many of us especially the old timers. It is beginning to tear apart the allegiance of die hard mylotters who have been known to withstand the harshness of all seasons. They surrender, they see no point of fighting tooth and nail with people who are ignorant on the law and order of mylot and getting embroiled in these unwarranted situations. It only raises one's BP and feel disgusted being hammered with brutal and offensive remarks. Their fighting spirit are ebbing away fast. Something urgent needs to be done before the mass exodus of these good and experienced mylotters. Without the presence of the senior and loyal members who have become the eyes and ears of other mylotters, mylot will become a haven to these troublemakers.
What used to be a peace loving society who are in to share views and knowledge and friendships are rudely shaken by this minority group that are liken to the terrorists in the real world. They stalk those who are vocals in their stance and rate them negatively leaving their stars ranking stagnant for ages. The newbies don't get the whipping as bad as the veterans. Their rising stars keep on shinning while those more senior members lagging far behind. In the hands of these unscrupulous hooligans they become victims of unfairness. It is good to see the good blend of the old and new mylotters here but when something is not right anymore, the older generations of mylotters are fast becoming a dying breed. Before that happens, wake up and do something to help the admin to evict those who are not supposed to be here, those who distort the working of this site so we all remain trouble free. We enjoy this place very much but I don't understand why some people doesn't act professionally to make this place a good place for everyone to interact. Are you not bothered with what is happening to mylot lately?

Hi zandi! At this point, being here a little over a year now,
I am slowly becoming one of the "old timers" and that isn't
good! When I first came here there were so many people here
that had been here for over two years who should now be here
three years to my one! But, sadly many of them are gone! The
have left because of all the crap that has been going on here
and they just got fed up with it and no longer wanted to be
a part of it! They felt the site had just changed too much! I
have seen a drastic change since I've been here and it isn't
for the good! If mylot admin doesn't do something soon they
are going to lose many of their older loyal members and soon
the newbies will catch on and leave too! There are certain
people that are coming here to start trouble and nothing else!
And mylot admin needs to take care of this NOW!

Hi Zandi!
I really appreciate your concern and I also feel that harmony and good enviornment on mylot should not be disturbed by those who are not serious here. It is said if you cannot appreciate some oen or cannot do 'good' to anyone, please do not do any bad thing to him, be neutral. I think those who are not interested in some discussions/comments may ignore the same and should not rate any user 'negatively'. Negative ratings do more harm than positive ratings doing good to a user. I think mylot also take note of your point that those who are not serious here, should be 'watched'.

Hi dpk, the problem has gone out of hands and I feel the need to voice out my disappointment when disapproving people making their appearances here, creating a lot of rubbish in their posts, stirring up the community with their nonsense and rating others negatively. Yes, I hope mylot realize that the presence of these trouble makers will only drive away their loyal members.

It is very sad that a bunch of immature little people can cause such havoc on mylot. They shouldn't be allowed to do it & we all have to stick together & try to prevent. Anywhere u are there will always be people like this in real life on mylot or wherever. They are to be pitied & need to get a life somewhere else. Mylot is so special to me & would be lost w/out it. Whatever we need to do to get rid of them i'm ready. What do u suggest. Hope ur sunday is going good for u.

Yes, I do share the same sentiment like you about mylot. I like it here and we should unite to evict these troublemakers from creating further troubles. They have no business to be here in the first place if they can't contribute anything for the benefit of all.

I have been around for about nine months and love it here.We must rise above these people who strive to upset us and destroy our nice peaceful caring site.We should stand true to our selves and each other.Take these people of our lists and we don't have to have anything more to do with them.No ones upset me yet but they have upset a rather lovely lady on here.like someone else always says stand strong in your beliefs.

Hi zandi, you have really raised a good topics. I have bothered similar problems too. But I have some opinion from myself.
May be I am also on that list but not intentionally but lake of my English. I am too weak in English so some mylotters may consider me as that type. So sorry zandy.
Yes zandi . I hve seen some natant mylotters who never go to the purport of a discussion. They just enter some stupid answers to harass us. They know that it will increase the numbers of posts and they are here for it. They are perverting the entire mylot. Ohhh….
Not only the newbie’s but also the veterans too. I think veterans are much active in this nonsense task bcoz there are a silent war between them. –ve marking is the main arms for their war or if u become harassed by them then they know that u may sent an offensive comment. Slowly u will lose your popularity among mylotters.
I have seen that serious diss are often neglected. I have raised a serious topic on religion but only three responses I received, why? May be I am weak in English but I am not alone here. There are some other members too who are weak in english . We need help from those experts.
Yes zandy. I am unhappy with some actions of mylotters and perhaps I shall stop my visit.
Thanks. SHIBHAM

I don't usually touch on sensitive topics ie. religion and politics. These topics are too sensitive and will always end in heated debates. You are well understood here as far as your English is concerned. Not many people go for controversial subjects so it is better to go for more general topics that others can relate well.

Please keep in mind that religious issues can conjure up many different notions. They are some pretty strange things done in the name of religion when they come from either of those extremist positions. Everyone is trying to champion the greatness of their religions and those close minded fanatics are the one who are always argumentative which will erupt into some controversial issues about religious beliefs. We have just enough religion to make us hate but not enough to make us love one another. I have seen it happen here many times when someone start a religious topic, there will be strong words flying around, the battle of the tongues seems endless thus creating it into a controversial issue. Am not an expert on religious matters so would stir clear of this topic and many would do likewise.

This problem is not exclusive to MyLot. I've seen this happen on a lot of websites, especially those where one can earn cash, points, or other rewards. People get so competative, and rather than boosing themselves, they feel the need to belittle others. I think this is a sign of low self esteem in the offenders. Afterall, if one thought more of her/himself s/he'd boose her/his own work instead of staying where they are, and bringing someone else down.

So true, they are probably children with nothing better to do whose parents need to put them in summer school instead of letting them run rampant. Hopefully everyone can just ignore them. If you feed into them and respond, you not only stoop to their level, but you give them what they want. They just want an excuse to be able to behave badly, don't give them one. Show them that they aren't strong than you, and that you've been her MUCH longer and cannot be swayed by their childish antics!

The solution is simple zandi...ignore those who flame and abuse the users here. Don't react or respond to them or make posts complaining about them though I see that people are concerned. The best way to eradicate these people is to react as myLot says...report them. Nothing else, just report them. If enough people do the right thing then the wrongdoers will be gone. Responding to them simply feeds them and that's what they want.

Hi, I agree it can be difficult, but it's best to see the trolls for what they really are, just out to cause trouble. And then just carry on and don't rise to their bait. Other serious users, when seeing offensive remarks, will recognize them. Personally I never respond to a bad comment or attack. I may talk about other responders if they remark on it, but bad comments do not deserve a response.
I look at them as just words on a screen and those who write such bad comments have problems - well they must do, to attack somebody without reason like that. Let them have their day, if it so pleases them. Keep Mylotting. It's a great place to be! - Derek

Hi zandi,
Very contextual discussion. Look now I am not as old as some others but during this short sojourn of mine I have observed that mylot is fast losing the veterans and really knowlegdeable people.
There is no flexibility in the approach of some mylotters. There is no depth in their discussion or comment. Just have a look at the discussion. some of them are no discussion at all. And if you put a serious discussion you will have the least response. This is really unfortunate. This morning I read Hiccup elsewhere putting he is less interested now. Like this if there has to be an exodus of these people what will remain in mylot? The trolls and the ill mannered ones who are arms up against you if you put real and genuine opinion in their discussion.
You have put it rightly that those undeserving are with shining stars with high reputation and those with the gravity and sincerity are down with the faded star. This would surely bring down the quality of mylot. I feel this is the time something were done.

Hi raj, mylot might have good numbers of recorded members and this has placed it in the world map of the net as one of the longest surviving social site around with its popularity soaring everyday. Unfortunately unless and until this site is free from these troublemakers there will be a high rate of turnover of members here. Some good mylotters are no longer participating here.

I guess, it's one way for them to express themselves...maybe these people are still children...I think we should just respct their own comments and just ignore their ignorance...and let's just express ourselves here at my lot since on the first place, this where we can share ideas, expressions, and comments and remeber that each person is unique.

It seems there's always someone online who has a crappy life and has nothing better to do than to aggravate people, just like in real life and if you've ever worked in any kind of customer service position, then you know what I'm talking about.

I am I mean not even 2 weeks ago I got into a argument over a post I started over books. it was really childish. I mean I told the person this is silly and I have nothing more to say. I didn't cuss or anything but the person had some harsh words to say to me. It doesn't matter now but it was silly to start a fight over anyway.

I've been here three years now and the negative activity around here has only gotten worse as far as I see it. So many of my friends are no longer active here as they can't deal with it....many of my good friends have actually closed their accounts and hang-out at another place which unfortunately I'm not very active at...would rather be here--but the feeling here isn't the same. One of the real problems too, is that many of us get a bit "paranoid" when we see a "newbie"---thinking it might be a troll although one can usually tell them by their obnoxious and disrupting behavior and they seem to come out during the weekend when the admin isn't here

You and I have been here almost at the same time and we have seen how this place has undergone many changes compared to its earlier years. Trolls were never heard of and the atmosphere then was very peaceful unlike now when we co-exist with people who doesn't respect the rights of others. I realize it too that the trolls become active during the weekends.

I'm very bothered by it right now. Pissed. Don't know what to do about it yet, but I'm ticked. Why people who don't like each other can't just ignore each other...

who isn't? Many people are affected by the recent trolling that have messed up the smooth flow of this place. I agree with you, if you are not agreeable to a person, leave that person alone and don't put disputable remarks on their pages. But these trolls feed on controversial issues and they love the publicity that specifically describe their activities.

Hello zandi458 this is checkmail and peoples do tend to behave differently as they are from different society, community, with different knowledge, different preferences, etc.Basically talking about two persons, one hailing from east and one from west, first difference is in its race, colour, Language, Lifestyles, Manners, emotions, boldness, studd. And later on when they interact there is the inall total difference of understanding each other. So no persons tend to be different than a normal happy person but yes some times the differences make the person much different.
