That's not so true! "Human made source to depend on!!"
I duly respect if you don't believe in God or anything supernatural, but you should not write such things like "human made source" and all!!
Everyone has his own beliefs. Its no escape from problems, its just a support for the spiritual part. May be, something like a miracle will happen with you someday and you'll start believing in God as is a fact. One believes what he experiences and witnesses!

whateva, God is not of this world...you cannot prove his existence just like you can't prove a lack of existence. You asked a question, people will answer it. I don't see whizkid08 saying anything offensive. He even commented he respects if you don't believe...yet you're getting very defensive over nothing.
Let's have a discussion here and try to learn from one another...not start an argument. You told him to get a life because he doesn't agree with you? That's not the way life works or the way it should be. If you wanted a discussion where you can agree with people, why don't you post in the atheist section?

Well I had exactly the same views like yours.......but now let m,e tell you I don't feel that "GOD IS MAN-MADE"
I feel unless you don't taste something you wont understand what it is like, the bible says taste and see that the lord is good......In my teenage I had picked up some real bad habits and addictions......and I had no clue what I was doing......but then God had different plans for me.......my mom knew that I was into all this but then she did not want to confront me like that ,she wanted me to learn things the hard way, and indeed I messed up my life, went through lots of agony, had failed relationships, etc.......but she constantly used to pray for me.......and one fine day, I felt the peace of god in my life, I felt his consolation power, i felt someone was there with me, and that's when I knew that God is a living god.......
I changed my ways I used to pray to god that change my life and make me into a new person......and trust me no medicine on earth could have changed my life, I still feel his power.....
Now many wont believe what I am saying and I don't really want to convince them about anything, you need to experience it yourself or else you would never come to know god.......
peace

Hi LovingLife139,
Well I have been through lots more than this........I just mentioned it in brief.....I have seen life like hell and I don't really want to get back there.....god has indeed blessed me and has given me a wonderful life now......but it is really difficult to sustain in him, as we see so much of evil around us, and you don't really find people in their 20's talking about god !!!!!

I think that there is some higher power that is responsible for all this creation, lets call him God - note I use the male gender and the term God as per convention and am not trying to be sexist.
As far as religions are concerned, I don't accept the concept of God as laid down by any religion. I don't accept all the laws laid, rituals, etc laid down by any religion, and I rather pick those attributes of every religion that would help me live a better life.
My idea of a God would never have the human attributes of reward and punishment, he would be far above all that, and I don't accept that he has made humans in his own image. Why should he?
The concept of a God is an important crutch for me, especially in times of distress, not an escape, as I said I don't accept any religions concept of God.

I guess it all depends on what you have chosen to believe or not believe in, and "your" concept of the real faith and spiritual lifestyle to follow.
God is real. The Bible says that he DID make mankind in His own image, and that's good enough for me.
My relationship with him is one of love and servitude, and to help my fellow man - not weakness, and or a crutch.
I have a very peaceful and fullfilled spiritual life, for which I am eternally thankful for, and it's all because of inviting my Saviour, Jesus Christ into my life. I've never been the same sense.
Right now, He (God) is enabling me with His peace that only He can give, to go through a very hard time in grieving over losing my husband of over 50 yrs., on April 30.
Have a great week.

we'll i'm open minded as well. my parents are very religious but yet we don't go to chruch? isn't that weird my dad does and my mom watches it on tv. talk about a house being divided. so i can't really say i don't believe it would hurt them and plus what if there really is a god i don't want to diss my creator. so i say their might be one and their might not. i'm gonna be in the middle here.

I live my life with an open mind but I dont subscibe to any god, as every religion believes in a different god.
If there was a god it would be the same for everyone, ie theres only one footballer called david beckham not 10 or 12 different versions of him.
If you understand my analogy.
