The reason for your system restart is might be Xp because some times it does not work well when both the OS are installed together or do you have more than one anti-virus software in your system, if so then the system restarts again and again. Just un-install vista and give a try it might work or else its totally a virus problem.

I don't know in my old computer I have both systems, the only thing and I opted to use only XP, because Vista always give me troubles, not of that kind but other kind of problems, like closing most of the programs that were open, and marking so many errors
