We havge a multi party system here, you just don't ever here about the other parties. The media and the government both push this false republican/democrat choice. there are plenty of other parties and plenty of "viable" indepandants. But untill we the public begin demanding more coverage of them b the media and acting to reform election laws and ballot proceedures in our states to make it easier for them to get on the ballot, and demand they be included in the debates, we will continue to be a de'facto "two party system"
Electing one of the same two parties election after election, decade after decade, is NOT change,.

All we need is one single party. Simply Americans working in the best interest of Americans. The two party system is the dumbest thing we have ever done. Right behind electing Obama our President that is. The last thing this country needs is a bunch of educated idiots arguing for the simple reason they are of the other party.

A two party system invevitably leads to stagnation. New ideas are excluded from political discourse, a cosy consensus develops among the political class (a consensus which always seems to favour themselves) and people who aren't aligned with the big parties feel excluded from the political process. Here in Britain, we've got a three party system, and that's bad enough.

It sucks that only a 2 party system works in america and thats because of the far reaching influence that both parties have on large doners via corperations in bed with them but someone for crying outloud could run on independent ideas, stick to the constitution and call themselves either or. IMO too many american voters can't and will not get off the two party bandwagon.
