Do You Eat What You Can't Spell/ Pronounce?

tteokbokgi - easy to eat, hard to pronounce!

I read of this golfer who says that he prefers to eat only the things that he can spell (name is Boo Weekley, for the curious). Which got me to thinking, I would definitely hem and haw before ordering a serving of Bouillabaisse, or telling the girl at the supermarket that I want half a kilo of gewurztraminer grapes, or asking for the waiter to get me a fondue Bourguignonne, or a plate of tteokbokgi, or a bottle of viognier because I'm really thirsty, or a meal consisting of Carpaccio de Boeuf, Soupe a l'Orignon and Avocat et Oeufs a la Mousse de Crabe. Excuse my French. I mean REALLY excuse my French. It's a good thing I can already use the copy paste function, since I honestly CANNOT spell those food I just mentioned! Do you think they make it hard to spell and pronounce just so they can sell it more expensively?

hahaha, i will give it a try to taste it before i try to memorize the letters that are composed with it. i wont miss a taste of food for the world. when i work on different countries i try all the food if i can. then ask later what it was called. i am adventurous when it comes to food, i even wanted to have a chance to taste stinky tofu.

I think some foods get weird fancy names because then people think they are gourmet so if the price is higher then its fine because that is how its suppose to be. Now for me when it comes to what I'll eat and what I won't eat I refuse to eat anything that either looks bad or smells bad. Its the biggest reason why I hate any Japanese/Chinese food. It looks like vomit to me and smells about the same way.

I like to actually know what it is I am eating before I actually try it. Maybe he could have been talking about the ingredients in food too. Some foods have some ingredients that are very difficult to spell and pronounce. That can be a little scary.
