Mylot should lessen the amount of discussions and responses to 100, inspite of 500 for this copy paste issue...the other day I posted a response on mylot and when I was typing profusely, unfortunately my net connection got disconnected and it was a nice response and unfortunately the page expired saying "cannot display page" on the internet explorer and subsequently when I got back the net connected again and when I refreshed the page the whole response vanished in thin air and I was left in vain for all my painful typing efforts...sigh..
The same thing happened when starting a new discussion too though I have a UPS connected and rest assured about power, my ISP is new and gets disrupted time and again...

You might as well disable javascript before you copy/paste and before submitting enable it again. This is a workaround to the site's script which prevents copy/pasting until one has reached a ranking of 500.
I don't think mylot is too happy about it but hey use it to your advantage.

thats so true it took me about 2 weeks to just get what number i have now. it lets me copy and paste. but not all the time. its weird. we i first joined i thought yeah they should lessen it. but now i think so many people join and not come on again. and the people who just joined can easily answer there questions easily by copying and pasting and getting pay out quick. i just think they should lessen it by just 100. they would be nice any thing more than would be too much

Hello,
It does happen sometimes but then I learned my lesson, so i have to make it fast, short and meaning... I used DSL and connection never fail but sometimes my kids play with my computer, so i afraid it might get me a headache cuz of that.
just make it short and meaning... it will help you save time and words.

I had the same experience in the past. I was so pissed off when that happened because that was a long response, and I lost it. After that, I went ahead and logged out of Mylot. So, I agree that they should lower the threshold. I would say 300 is justifiable.

Although, it's a painful issue to all of us if it will happened to all of us again and again. But I think it is just one way of ensuring that all of our postings here are not being copied from other sources from the Net. I mean, my lot is taking part in the copyright issues. So I guess, it's their way of responding to that issue.

That happens a ton to me but a lot of time its not my internet connection it just mylot that doesn't want to load properly and at those times I wish I had copy and paste but I completely understand why mylot makes you wait to use it.
With making money online people are always looking for ways to cheat the system and that includes abusing the copy and paste rule so they feel that once you reach 500 posts you realize what mylot is really about whereas someone can easily reach 100 posts in a matter of a day or two in all actuality and I think someone should be dedicated to the site for a month of so - which would be the 500 posts - and have reached that first payout without so therefore there is less of a risk of fraudulent postings or spam.

Maybe they should, but we should respect their choice and reasons behind it. Just be thankful it is only 500 and not 1000 or more.
Most of us here have felt the wrath of losing a post that we had typed out, especially when it's long and thought out, at one time or another. It's very frustrating to say the least, not to mention discouraging when this happens. But if users continue to post, they will eventually reach the 500 mark. The trick is to not give up!
Good luck and happy mylotting!

I actually do not mind that the minimum amount is 500, it does make sure that you are serious about this site. I know that I've lost so many conversations and whatnot. And of course when I noticed that I wasn't connected to the web anymore, I would copy the conversation just in case and when I went to paste it, of course it didn't let me...so I pasted it in word and just retyped it into the box. Good thing I am a fast typer but it is a pain in the butt to do. At least I'm getting close to the 500 mark so then I won't have to worry about any of that.

I've had that some problem. It would be great when I am trying to quote someone in my responses. It gets on my nerves when I Have to re-type what they have already written. Arrr! But I guess they put this rule in place for a reason. It just gets on my last nerve!

Ya my friend this is true that mylot has a threshold of 500 responses and discussions, and i also agree with you that it is a huge amount and it should be lessen but there is a threat to this change. It is that most of the new comers will copy pest the discussions not to give there own writing. After giving 500 responses the mylotian becomes acquainted with the terms and conditions. So it is better to have that 500 threshold value. And the suggestion for you is to register a complain to you ISP for your problems.....

I have been working to get to the 500 post for a little over 3 months so I can be able to write my post on word since I have some writeing problems such as puntuation and spelling. But I have had my internet falling on me many times before and I hate that it makes me so angry because I have to retype everything over again but the worst moments are when that hapens more than ones. There have been days were I have to retype everything 2 or 3 times since my internet has not working that good this past weeks. But so far I have no idea if they might change that so all I have left to do is keep posting every chance I get.

it happens to me too, just like today i was responding to a discussion when suddenly the browser hanged and was not loading anymore. then i copy paste my response to note pad. after that i try opened it again but the link was gone. i my rant but not, because it's their rules and yes the 200 and 500 mark rule is the best for discouraging spammers from sending too much referral links as discussions.
