Bloodlines

Does anyone really know how bloodlines in dogs are determined? What makes up a dogs pedigree? For example, when someone says they have a redboy top and bottom. How do you really know?

I reallly dont know about that one but I bet someone on here will be able to tell you. I think it goes through the mother but I really cant be sure how they trace it. it is something that I have wondered about before too. I think there are some things that can be determined by genetic testing but I dont think that is done too often with dogs.
