Hi....dear mylot friends,i bought 2 german shepherd puppies 3 months ago and both of them are growing well but one of the puppies's ear didnt stand straight. It slants....jus like when u shake your head side way. I try several ways but it won't work. My puppy really looks funny because of its slanting ear...lol
Anyone knows a way to cure it?

Hello chuanton,
Not to worry this is a fairly common thing in the German Shepherd breed. Especially during teething. If you have seen the puppies ear up before it will eventually go up. From what I have read you should only be concerned. However if by the time the pup is 5 months old, his or her ear has not gone up at all in which case treatment might be needed.
If your pup is about 5 months of age and the ear has not gone up you might need to tape it. I found a great site with information about that http://leerburg.com/tapingears.htm
It's a simple process that does not hurt the pups. It just takes some medical tape and popsicle sticks, and a few other misc. items. I hope this helps.

Using things to place there ears the way you want them is normally how you do it and also rubbing there ears the way you want them helps. I had a friend that had great danes and they had to get there ears fixed. They taped the ears down and once the bandeges came out they had to rub them to keep them that way. It was a long process but came out really well.

Hi there!
Why don't you try putting on braces? You know, what vets do when they ear crop pitbulls. It's like two pieces of thin wood with tapes on so the ears will keep on standing as they heal. Maybe you can ask a vet to help you out with it.
But personally I think your puppy's ears will stand soon. After all it's just a puppy and maybe the ears aren't that sturdy yet hehe.
Hope that helps. Ciao!
