Hello friends, remember... i had told you that i had got an assignment to translate a book in the Hindi language to English? Well, i finally received the payment for it yesterday which was Indian Rupees 10,000.00, ie approx $ 200.00. Not bad for a little hard labour of a month and a half. The book will be published once my work is finally approved and will bear my name in it.I had always wanted to have a book published in my name and now that wish seems to be coming true. Cheers.

wow that is a geat achivement by you my dear friend. Writing a book is not that easy to do, you have done this thing in good time and earned a good amount. Can you tell me that name of the book and the cost of the book. I will see if I can buy it and read it. Any plans to write more books or this is your last venture to write a book. Anyhow, congratulations to you and hope that you write more and more books in coming days.. all the best...

That is great. I share your happines. I have seen some translation works in get a freelancer.com, but I didn't feel that it is that worth. Did you do this translation as a full time job or part time. Do you have contacts with translators? My mother tounge is Malayalam (language of Kerala)and I am intereted in translating Malayalam content to English or viceversa. Let me know if you can help me or provide some contacts.

No, this is not my job. It came to me by chance and through a close friend of mine and when i found that the pay was reasonably good i decided to take it up, more as a challenge and i certainly enjoyed doing it. Frankly i cannot help you in this since i myself do not know how to go about it professionally. However i have decided to do one thing and that is to translate a few Hindi books into English and get them published. I do have a few books and i intend to start with them. I do not know how successful i will be but i will give it a try. Meanwhile i wish you the best of luck and hope that you find something for yourself.

Hey congratulations Veejay. It sounds as if you had a lot of work translating from Hindi to English but a great feeling of satisfaction that you have had your book published. A great achievement indeed! - Derek

Congratulations! You should be very proud of your accomplishment. I felt like that the first time I had an article published in a magazine although it’s not as big a deal as a book with your name on it! Well done!
