I'm glad to know that I'll be taking the week off from work since most of the staff and faculty will be taking a retreat this week and we're advised not to hold classes for the duration.
I'm somehow glad to take a break from all the hustle and bustle of teaching and preparing notes for the next day.
I'm figuring this 6days of rest should not be unproductive though, so tomorrow I'm planning to do the cleaning I haven't been privileged to do since classes started. Not to mention the exercise my body has been craving all 2months now.
So, how do you take a break?

congratulations you will have a week off. it's really amazing, isn't it?
If i feel tired with my work i usually use my holiday off then plan to travel somewhere. it normally takes one or two weeks.
if it's just one week i will travel around the UK, go to some tourist sites as a tourist.
if i have two weeks of holiday i prefer flying outside of the UK. it's really exciting when i traveled so long time.
enjoy your week off.

Hello,
I would love to take a break but I am a manager at this store and it is hard to take a break if I dont have anyone to replace my spot. But, we plane to take a short vacation this coming month... will see how it goes first.

It is nice to hear that you are going to get a break. Enjoy the time. I would prefer to go for a trip to some hill statiion or some calm place for meditation if I get a break. But, I am very busy with work and I don't think I will get break in the near future. I badly wants to go somewhere for a trip. I have to plan it out.

Dear laydee,
"Wow, 1 whole week! that's great!"
1st day I will do my schedule for my break - so I have time management and cover all the things that I have been on KIV" this will free my mind from KIV that been bugging
me. Once it is set free, I will enjoyed my break to the optimal!
I will either - booked a chalet by the sea side that also has the massage & spa facilities. Chalets thats facing the turquoise blue sea, the blue sky, waving palm trees, cool breeze that caress my face - refreshing... drinking coconut water is just like heaven! I will rest and relax with an aromatherapy spa.
I think 3 days will be enough to spend at the beach. The balance 3 days, I will
spend one day visit my parents hometown and back to my house to relax again...
that to me is an excellent break!

A tub full of hot water with 2 cups of Epsom salts, including a book or Sudoku puzzle, is my favorite way to get away from it all. That's the only place I know where I won't be interrupted by my husband or pets.
Crochet, especially if it's an uncomplicated pattern, is a good way to take a mental break. Almost like meditation. Meditating is good, but I can't keep my mind still.
We don't take vacations, we're retired, so I do all the mental vacations I can.

Taking a break is one the best things in life I enjoy doing. A typical "break day" for me would be at the beach, near the shore.I would just lie beneath a beach umbrella and have a good whole body massage while soaking my skin under the setting sun. That would really be a treat for me. After that , I will eat a sumptous dinner in a Italian restaurant.
But after that, I know I would get stresse again because of the bill. So i would rather sleep the whole day in my apartment and watch DVD'd in betweer while munching on a pack of potato chips..lol..

I always find time to rest, and so whenever there's spare time for me, I would just sleep to rejuvinate my body. I am a couch potato so I am not really fond of going out alone, unless I'm with my friends. During long breaks, I really really wanna go to the beach to relax, and have a relaxing and soothing spa massage..

wow !! thats really good .. but instead of staying at home you too could attend the retreat and consider it as a break .. treats are very refreshing and enlighting...As for me, if i need a break i just pack my bags and go to any of my relatives place to stay over.. or go for a short trip .. that all depends how i would lik et o spend my break time , agin dependent on my moods..

hi laydee, So you got a whole week as break.Very great.!!If i get such a break in these hectic schedules i would like to spend one fourth of whole time in taking rest(sleeping),another one fourth of time in doing some chores of home and the remaining time i'd love to spend with my family and friends. This is how i will spend my time if i get a break.I feel we should have some recreation activities to cherish ourselves in break time rather we stay at home itself. It ois also good to be at home and take rest as you might have been working for a long time.but if you go to other places and meet your loved ones then definitely you will feel better.

Break, what's a break? LOL It's like when people would mention 'vacation' and I'd say 'what's a vacation'? Raising 4 children with little money, lots of stress, etc. even when taking a vacation it never really was one - just changed location and type of work. And when the kids grew up did things lighten up - of course not! However, I have learned to take small moments of time out of my day to take care of myself [I guess that is the type of 'break' I know about]. Calgon - take me away! was my motto when my children where little; and even with them grown up I still swear by it. There's nothing that beats soaking in a hot bubbly tub! Hiding in books, whether romance, mystery, or spy novels, was another 'great escape', if only for a few minutes here and there. My needlework was another means of keeping sane. I cross-stitch, knit, and crochet and for many years I always had something in my hands that I was working on. Very therapeutic! Now that life is settling down a bit [fingers crossed], and my second husband believes in spoiling me, I'm having to learn how to really enjoy a break or vacation. However, I don't do my needlework anywhere near as often now that I'm on the computer all the time. LOL.

I've just started working so I'm not craving for long breaks just yet, weekend break works well for me.
