The number one thing that was a shock to me when I flew this summer was that I had to take off my shoes to go through security. I had heard about all the restrictions for carry ons and so forth but no one mentioned that I would need to take off my shoes.
Thankfully I wore my tennis shoes and so I had socks on. It grossed me out to think about walking barefoot in such a public place.

HELLO bustal!
I did not even ride or fly of an airplane but
I think its so strict now adays because of the
ah1n1 flu virus that spread all over the world
today.
In the airport the passengers will be checked
through the machine if they have somewhat sign
of it.
Also of the bombings in the plane , they will
double check it for security measures of the
passengers.
Its good for all for te safety of the clients.

I am a keen traveler and I would say airport security has got really serious in the last few years. It was bad after the 9/11 event and I visited Los Angeles 2 months after that. Security was tight then and I got a pair of scissors taken away at security that I had forgotten was in my hand bag. For two years there have been rules about liquids. Passengers have to have liquids up to 50 ml in small containers in a transparent bag. They have to show this bag to the security team. I have a toddler son and a baby daughter. I have to taste the baby bottles to show that they just contain water. I add the soya milk powder later. I used to take bottles of water to drink but now that isn't allowed.
I was reading a newspaper yesterday. It said that some country's airports have scanners to show which passengers have a fever. They worry that those passengers might have swine flu. I have heard a group of students is in quarantine after they were picked out from other travelers at the airport in Beijing.

Depends on where you are traveling to and from. But here are the simple rules.
Have you ticket already printed if possible, makes it quicker.
If you are checking bags get to the airport early (90 min domestic or 2.5 hrs intnl)
No fluids going through security, this means in your carry on.
If you carry a laptop be prepared to get it out of the bag at security
If you have other electronics same as above
Where shoes that are easy to get on and off, you have to take them off at security
You will have to remove-hats, belts, sunglasses, coats and jackets, sweaters
You can carry one lighter (if you happen to smoke)
Make certain your government issued ID is current (not expired) and has a picture
Be prepared for long lines if you are flying out of a Hub airport
Many airlines have gone to all self-service. This means you use the kiosk at the airport to print your ticket, if you haven't done so already and if you are checking bags you will take them to the desk to be tagged having already claimed them when you printed the ticket. At many airports you will then have to take the bag to another security point to be checked.
Some airports are now using both the metal detector and the puffer. It slows down lines tremendously. Thus the need to actually get their early.
Easiest way to "fly" through security?
Just be patient and polite. Wear clothes that are comfortable and not to many layers. Wear flip flops or slide shoes that are easy to get on and off. Don't wear metal. Only carry what you absolutely need on the airplane, check the rest.
