Are The World Health Authorities Undermining The Swine Flu Epidemic?

I know I am bragging about the recent Swine Flu epidemic, but I am just literally getting quite worked up at how the spread has not been checked till today.
I mean look around, read the news and there are still new cases and much worse deaths even. Just what are the health authorities doing? Do you think they have really done enough so far? I do not think so.
Here we have the World Health Organizations and Travel Advisories, spreading the ever so "confident" message that there is no concern for panic at this time. Amazing! Even when the new cases are coming up every now and then. Deaths even.
Today, I just cannot help finding so non amusing analogy of this article about this particular Health Secretary Andy Burnham today ducked a question about whether he would take his children to a crowded football match as he sought to downplay confusion about advice issued to pregnant women over swine flu.
So what now, WHO? Must there be an astronomical increase on the fatalities before mandatory drastic measures be implemented?

Not to downplay any fears one might have about the swine flu, but do you know more people die of regular strains of flu every year? We're talking near the million mark every year...yes, million, yet the media doesn't give out that fact. One is exposed to all kind of nasty germs and bacteria every single day. When the outbreak of the swine flu first came out, it didn't concern me and where I live had the highest incidence of the swine flu and deaths (NYC) than anywhere else in the world save for Mexico where it started--schools WERE closed down near me...in fact, there were more cases of swine flu in the school only a few blocks away from me. Did I get the flu? Nope. I haven't had the flu since I was eleven...I'm now 53 and have no fears of getting any kind of flu in the future

pyewacket,
Not exaggerating about the Swine Flu epidemic but I feel that the authorities around the world just aren't doing enough.
I can understand where you are coming from, however, if I may add here, that the normal flu cases are strained because, people are ignorant and undermining their conditions by self medicating with strong antibiotics without proper consultations.
In the case of this Swine Flu, I just feel that the health authorities are downplaying the situation than treating it with more urgency. Also, do you think that the media is being restricted by the authorities from giving out more information due to the current economy?
In my opinion, I felt that the WHO and health authorities of different countries are just having the same attitude like this Health Minister.
P.S.
It is my sincere wish that your family and you will never catch this nasty flu. So, do take care.
