Superman Returns...your thoughts

I've watched the last Superman movie starring Brandon Routh, and I would say it could have been better. I've been looking for Superman to get new action, but the movie seemed to focus more on the movie. Maybe I expected too much, but I've read before that some critics actually liked the movie,even Quentin Tarantino. Now, Warner Bros. is not taking any moves yet to make another movie based on the famous super hero because of their losses.
What did you think about the movie? Is it really that good? Or it really lacked something?
Who would you like to play the hero next time?

One of the most boring movies I ever watched and I'm not even kidding. Brian Singer did a great job with X-men so I don't understand how did ended up so badly. I didn't like Brandon Routh nor the redesign of the costume.

For me Superman Returns was a huge disappointment and basically thought it sucked.
The trouble for me was I was bought up watching Christopher Reeves as Superman and for me he was the man of Steel. But watching Brandon Routh take on the role he just didn't convince me that he was Superman. What I think happened was that Superman Returns targetted a new audience who had watched the TV shows such as "smallvile" and "lois & clark" and so portrayed a very different Superman to the one which I knew and so didn't appeal to me as I wasn't a fan of the TV shows.
If they do make another Superman movie I hope they go for a complete unknown and hopefully someone who can portray Superman something closer to Christopher Reeves interpretation.
