This years my parents and I are thinking of going to Milan.
We've already been to Venice and Rome, in previous years. I really loved both cities, and trully think Italy is the most beautiful country I've ever been to.
However, I really don't know much about Milan, and have no idea what to expect. Have you ever been? What places do you recommend?

I live in Italy an hour away from Milan.
I moved here from UK over thirty years ago.
I have been to Milan many, many times and Ifind that it is not as fascinating as many other places I have already visited (Florence for example). It is the centre of business and financial activities for Italy and is not one of the main tourist attractions even though there are obviously some things, like the Duomo, to visit.
Are you planning on staying in and around Milan for long or is it just a quick visit while visiting other places here too?

first of all, thank you so much for your response.
Well, we're thinking of staying in Milan for five days, will be sleeping there, at a hotel. However one of those days in Verona, i'm very excited to see the house of Juliet, the Coliseum and all that.

Oh yes you absolutely must go to the Arena at Verona!
As you have been here before you will know that a 'day' here in Italy starts early and ends late and if you can pack in lots of things in each day you will be able to see a lot. If you can have an early rise one day and take a trip to Lake Garda, you will not regret it. Even Lake Maggiore is so worth a trip and if you can get an early start then you can go on a trip on the lake itself which will take you through to Swirzerland and you will have time to stop there too. Well worth trying to fit in as you will be in the right area

Oh I hope I'll be able to ggo, I've heard it's beautiful...
However you are scaring me a bit, because you keep telling me about the wonderful places to visit outside the city, I'm worried about the days we'll stay in Milan... Is there enough sightings?

Hello!
I've been trying to get a bit more information about the city on the web, but I haven't found much...
This will be the third time I'll go to Italy, so I kind of understand how everything works around there...
However, the only two places I decided to go to is th Duomo and the Sforza Castle.
If you have any other advice I would much oblige :)

Hi live in Milano. I suggest you to also pay a visit to the famous leonardo da vinci's "cenacolo" (maybe you saw it in the "da vinci code" movie) and to the S. Ambrogio Church. You MUST go visit Como and its famous lake (less than an hour by train). If you love shopping you must see tha area near to the duomo, and also go to Corso Buenos Aires.
If you like science, science museum of milan is very very beauiful, you really should go there, too.

Well, I've seen many movies that takes place in Milan, Italia. The structures and buildings are very good. It shows how artistic Italians are. While I've never been in Milan, I here many things about it. Good things actually. Whenevr you go in Milan you'll see historical sites there.
