Yes it is true! My internet went down on saturday and still is! Right now I'm on a computer at work! I called support over the weekend. They kept telling me it was the motem! I unplugged it and plugged it back in a number of times! I was then told the problem was outside not inside. The last time I unpugged the motem I last my phone, too! Then I was told it was an inside thing! I was very furious at that time and yelled and swore at the support person then hung up! I didn't know if a tech person was coming out or not! I called back last night and one is supposed to here today to check the connections outside and to call me on my cell if they needed to check inside! It's 1:45 pm and I still don't know if someone as been to check the conncetions at where I live! I'm going through internet withdrawal! I haven't been abe to make any money over the net and it is getting boring at night with out my computer working! I hope it gets resolved soon! I can't take much of this!

All you can do, in my opinion is wait for the guy to come over. If he says the connections are OK, he is there to check your computer. When I lost my internet, it was usually due to my computer. There have been times when the support person on the phone couldn't fix it, I played around with my computer, figuring I couldn't mess it up anymore than it was. I would do something and all of a sudden I had the internet again.

Waiting is the most boring activity in this world. How can you suggest it? How if the customer support forget about your complaint and your internet went off for several weeks even for several months. Don't say it's impossible, cause human is not far from mistake

Nothing worse than having no internet. I went through that last year and had no net for almost a month- it drove me crazy. What was worse I had to keep phoning tech support and it was costing me a fortune and they were useless. Finally someone at my work put me in contact with someone who knows more about computers than me and he was able to fix my problem easily.

Good relationship bring the world better. It's the motto. If we can't trust the customer support, we should believe in someone else around us, just like your friend's friend. It's proven. You can fix the problem easily without charged even a single penny.

I hateit when it happens, I'm using Verizon connection and it sucks! It always get disconnected easily, I have called the technician couple times and they did come fix it couple times, it's still... I don't know what is going on with the connection... it is very unstable, I might just change a different provider. I don't work and stay at home most of the time, it is really boring to be at home without the computer... I mean internet.

I so hate when the internet goes out. Its no fun and i can't stand it, i want to get one and make my money everyday. It's not the funnest thing either as there isn't much to do around the house with no internet. Its boring and not fun at all. I am always on the computer making that little extra money i can every day since I'm unemployed so when the internet goes out i am so aggravated and on the phone right away and i get mad because my schooling in online so i get really mad about it all. SO i know how you feel with no internet since im sure it has happened to most of us.

If you are working with the cable TV company, here are some things that may help. Every time you speak with someone, ask for their name and their id number or a reference number to your call. I have a modem that has a reset button on it. I did not know that no matter how many times I unplugged it, if the reset button was not activated, the whole thing would not work. Now for some humor: At least your whole complex was not wired wrong. We were getting channels for the town next to us because the engineers went by zip code instead of township borders when designing the new lines. I could not get local school and township channels. I called for months on end to file the complaint. I even had one person tell me that I called too many times and they were going to throw my complaint in the trash. Finally I got someone who would listen. They gave me the local engineer. I talked with the design engineer and as we walked through it on the phone, he realized that they not only wired our complex wrong but others as well. This got them in trouble with the township. They had to rewire and put in new head ends (tech talk for the main boxes that carry and split signals). It only took a couple of years to straighten this mess out. When I finally got the local channels working, I noticed an alert running across these channels that they would be going to the digital package and we would not be getting them with our basic package anymore. Grrrrrrrrrrr! and double Grrrrrrrr! I called the cable company again. This time I asked to speak to a supervisor. As I started taking names and asking for the next one in charge, I ended up with someone in our area who looked at how patient I had been through this whole process. They then decided to give us an upgrade in our service for free for a year. Was it worth the free service? You tell me! I think I should have at least been paid for all my time on the phone just to get this straightened around. I can say that the local people were amazingly nice and there is now a blanket order for our home that all techs should listen very closely to me. It helps that I have worked in the sound and cabling business over the years (not for the big guys, thank you)! As of late, I have learned something that has really worked for me. Before I call, I ask God to please give me the smartest one there. I am amazed at how much better the problem gets resolved. I have also learned that after hour calls go to people around the globe. They usually tell you whatever you want to hear to get you off the phone. It is not their fault, they are very poorly trained by the company. Oh, when a service man comes out and they test the line at the access box, ask them what the power level is on your line. If the level is low that is their fault, either the connection or the cable somewhere needs to be fixed or replaced. I learned this when the neighbor two doors down had repairs done on their driveway and cut into our cable line. That took two years to fix also. In closing, I have chosen to have my telephone with another company because without a phone, it's not easy to call for repairs. I do hope your internet is fixed quickly and that your blood pressure can remain at normal levels. I'm still working on that.

I use att and Yahoo as my phone service and internet company. I do have cable but having all three through cable is more expensive! Yahoo/ATT is cheaper!

I'm sorry. I tried calling ATT to ask a simple question and spend well over three hours on the phone just to end up with the office that I originally talked to. After many months, I went into the ATT store where the service is very good and asked my question again and was assured that I would get an answer in a few days. It's been about a month. I have opted to use the cable because I thought if they can't answer a simple question (when will you offer dsl in our complex, everyone else has it around me?), I really don't want to have a real problem and expect them to actually take care of it. I do hope that your service has been restored all the same.

Well you do know about the analog switch? That may be your problem. A number of my friends and myself, went through the same thing. Our computers froze. Phones went out. TV's blacked out. One of my friends has'nt had service for 6 days. So, your problem may be with the switch and your cable provider is not smart enough to inform you about that issue.

hello, I used to have that kind of problem before but then one of the tech support help me out tho. First they try to check the connect that come through the line, and if they can't find anything wrong with it then it must be inside. Sometimes the modem is too hot and need to reset, or may be it just stop recognize your computer. What are you using? DSL or cable? mostly they have like IP address or so far so on... be patient, they will come down to check or may be it has been fixed already and wait for you to reconnect again.

My internet connection went down the other night too and my son called up the isp but nothing happened. The modem is not blinking which means there is no signal coming in or out of our computer. Computers, modems and cables are so unreliable and they do conk out from time to time.

Welcome back to MyLot. It is really frustrating to have your internet down since you got used to being online everyday for 1-2 hours minimum.
