So do you think there are spies here? If you post something about another site, are you worried that it might get back there? Have you every posted anything about another site and had somebody from there come here and disagree with you or argue with you? Do other site owners go around Googling their site to see what comes up?

There are site owners and admins from other sites signed up as users here.
That's fine as long as they don't promote in the disussions but when I see them in the money interests earning with their discussions promoting their site then I wonder if that's how they get their funds
We have a long-standing Lotter who has his own site and he is here but never uses the Lot to promote it. Many of us are users but we abide by the rules too and discuss things pertinent to the site without mentioning it specifically.
I post about other sites here and as what I post is my own personal experienc on the site itself, I have no qualms about admins reading. I can always back up with proof anything that I say about a site.

True! A couple of weeks ago there was a huge spate of discussions about a new site. Then all the non-US residents were banned after they had earnings and had recruited refs from many countries, including US.
That admin then explained things through the posts of another Lotter and never did clear up my query Not that it matters because IMO a site that welcomes you with open arms one day and chucks you out together with thousands of others three days later is not worth time, effort or space on here.

No not really, I really like all the sites that I am on, so if I say something about them, it is usualy positive, and if they read it, they would probably be happy about it. I promote this site on other sites that I am on. I don't believe in posting negative things about other websites. If I had something negative to say, I probably wouldn't be part of the website. But, I do read somethings on here where myLotters complain about sites, but I don't know how a 'spy' would prove it was them.

Well there was one example where a person who was on this site and the other side was attacked here by one of the mods from the other site. The person had the same userid and avatar on both sites, so they were easy to identify.

Lol I don't know, I still see his avatar at the other place so I guess he is still there
The thing is he was making a lot of money on here as he had loads of Referal under him, he actually bragged about it on the other Site that he had been banned from here because he stuck up for the other place lol
I never checked if he is on your Friends list lol

Most definitely! I've known of members here in the past (might still be here, not sure) that I KNOW are moderators of other forums and sites, but I don't recall seeing any of them argue the merits of these sites before though? It's in the best interests of any site owner to monitor comments regarding their sites by watching other forums, so there's no question it happens.

I remember that discussion actually! I didn't comment in it as I had nothing to say at the time, but I did read through it. It was about you getting booted and then coming back and all the drama's ongoing yes? I remember the name of the mod over there too, because he's active here from time to time. (Or WAS)

yeah, that's the one! The mod I was thinking about who came over here and started harassing us was female though.

I suspect this too. I mean mylot discussions can easily be gotten on search engines. It would definitely draw attention to curious onlookers. So far, I'm mostly active on here besides blogging so whenever I speak about other sites, I don't worry at all. Anyway, I answer most discussions about participation mostly..
However, I think some people come on here to check out certain references like on how they can make their site better. I think so..

I have never had anyone really come here and disagree with me. I have been at other sites, and have basically just said they are not for me. I know that many mylotters are also on other writing sites and earning sites, and social sites. We all have our favorites. I think Googling your site might be a good way to see what needs to improve or change.

Yep if you go at it with a positive attitude and don't take offense at criticism.

I don't put anything past anyone. I never go to any site but mylot but know they can sure be ugly on here. the good thing the nice people out weigh the bad. I don't know what other people do but i just like peace & quiet myself & hate the ugliness that shows up.

I haven't either. I was just having a discussion with a friend who is on here and Yuwie and she was saying she'd be hesitant to have a discussion here about Yuwie because of who it might get back to. That was my idea for the discussion!

I never really thought about that. The only other sites I really write on are edubook.com and facebook, so I don't really have anything to worry about. If a representative from those sites happen to see any comments I make, hopefully they will consider any criticisms as a chance to improve the site!

It probably depends on how it is said.
"So and so site is a scam that I don't recommend."
vs
"If so and so site would make the following improvements, it would be a really great place."

The titale of this discussion caught my attention because i am a huge Incubus fan (the have an album entitled "Fungus Amongus")
But i thought i would throw my own two cents in.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if they want to use forums on line to make their opinions heard, good for them. It is a way of presenting yor side to other people out there in the world, and if you have a negative opinion of someone, something, or someplace, you have every right to share it. On the same level, if people don't like your opinion, they have the right to disagree, and everyone needs to respect that. People who would use this kind of opinion sharing to degrade or belittle or harass those who don't beleive the same as they do are just silly.
If someone from another site doesn't like what you are saying about then maybe they just need to veiw it as constructive critisism, especially if many people are sharing the same opinion. And if it is just one person, well you know what, suck it up and deal with it. Every company, brand, organization has someone who will feel jilted, or cheated or treated unfairly. But as long as the majority of people are satisfied and happy with how they are being treated, i don't see any need for them to worry.
