In your friends wedding reception almost everybody is dancing.
What you will do among the following?
Would you get friends out on the dance floor and make the DJ play some good music? hahah... you may have extreme confidence... you;re the dancing queen, dancing king?
or you will go and dance as your friends are insisting you constantly? haha...
or... since its embarassing, you make an early exit with many excuse...
For me... its really difficult to dance...
I dont have any talent to move like most people do...
i wonder, it seems that my muscle is too rigid, makes me unable to move...
hmm...
but if my friends are insisting me constantly, then... okay.
I think they will dance with me... lets try... hahaha...
anyway, its a party... lets give the beat.

in a wedding i will dance if someone ask me to. you dont need to be a dancing queen or king on such ocasions for all of their eyes would be at the bride and groom. just simple swaying will do just to show that you are game and having fun. it would be really rude if you will exit just because of the dance and was present through all the eating time lol. you dont have to be a good dancer when it comes to ocasions like this just sway with them and smile. if you worry to much of your swaying it will show on your face. just have a good time

If everybody's dancing, I'm going to be out there too. Even if not a lot of people are dancing, I'm probably going to be dancing. Dancing is one of the things in my life that makes me happy. I like to do it more formally or in a social setting. So, yes to quote Leeann Womac, "If you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance."

If people were trying to force me into dancing to some awful music, that would make me more determined not to but,if it was music i liked to dance to, then I'd be up there giving it my best "Tigger-on-speed" performance and wouldn't care less what anyone else was doing!

You said it in your post, "it's a party..." so have fun. really, you are there to enjoy yourself and have a good time with your friends. It's no fun sitting there on the sidelines watching everyone else have fun. Get over it. Go out there and do what feel right and good. Your friends just want to have a good time with you, that's what they'll talk about. They won't care if you can't keep the beat, they probably aren't that great of dancers either.

yeah... we should enjoy the atmosphere...
we come to the party to make it more and more alive...
because its to celebrate our friends' wedding...
so we have to enjoy the beat...
yeah... not all people know how to dance well...
but we can still move...
we are able to move... and follow the beat...
heheh...

honestly I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. A wedding is a happy occasion and everybody should enjoy themselves and dancing with friends to good music is really fun.
Even if you don't know how to dance, if you have 2 left feet and a knocked knee, it doesnt' matter tap your feet and shake your hips, you don't have to strut like Michael Jackson or shake your booty like beyonce or shakira, just have fun and let the music take you for a ride, no one cares how good or how bad you dance as long as everyone is having fun then who are we stop them from enjoying the day...Same goes to you.. just enjoy and have fun. ^_^

Hi manya,
A really interesting question you have there!!!
Like you said it's a party lets juz grove it up!!!
At a wedding usually everybody is not that good at dancing so why bother pick up your girlfriend or if you are still single , ask a wonderful girl to dance with you!!
A weding is where you really give vent to your emotions and enthusiasm with your friends and really close ones!
So lets juz rock the party! Maybe you will find your soul mate there and become the next in line for a marrige.
Coming to you, Oh come on, there will always be dancers worse than you at a wedding! So don't be too harsh on yourself and juz enjoy the party gal!!
Anyways It's just one life , so live it and enjoy it to the max.
Cheers and happy my lotting!

I love to watch people dancing and always admire others can dance gracefully or dance crazily on the stage, but not me. Even there is lots of people dancing together, I still feel SHY. I don't know why.
Sometimes, my daughter ask me to dance with her, imagine we are just at home, with some close family members there, I still find myself SHY to dance at that moment.

Remember, a wedding is all about the bride and groom - or at least it should be. Dancing at the wedding reception is a way to celebrate the bride and groom. To totally sit it out, unless you have health reasons, or moral objections, might be construed as insulting to the bride and groom. However, if one is uncomfortable with their ability to dance, then drink a little more of the champagne [haha], go out with some friends, and let loose a little in honor of your friends who just got married.

yea i would dance. normally im very self concious about things like that, but at a wedding, everybody is having fun, and most likely, many people are quite drunk, meaning there is no way youll look the most rediculous on the dance floor even if you have no dancing skills. so why not? have fun!

Hi manya!
I love watching others dance, because I am poor in dancing and if I dance, I cannot watch others, therefore, how others are performing in a reception, I love that. Seeing others dance help us excite ourselves.

I'm a passive person, I will feel uncomfortable if I were requested to dance, even there are a lot of ppl dancing at the same time.
I will just give a big clap for those who are dancing in front. :D That's me.

i will dance if somebody asking me to dance but since the most wedding i go with my hons, then i'm dance with hons ... he is a great dancer, hot dancing why not it's a party anyway like you said, so no need to get shy, especially if almost all of the guest is dancing, but i'm rare to meet this situation at wedding reception

just like you said, it will be an embarrassing situation when people are dancing at weddings and you seem to be the only one left out, in most african settings the people will always believe that someone who is not dancing at wedding is an enemy of the bride and groom and may make you look evil
