instant messaging sucks the life out of people

how many people i wonder, actually laugh whilst saying 'lol' to someone on 'AIM' or 'MSN' etc...
how many people are sad when they put ='(
how many people are smiling like an idiot when they put =D
instant messaging is the death of us all. it draws us into a zombie-like state, gazing at a screen for hours with no emotion!

That's so true. I don't instant message very much anymore - now I have facebook chat! I don't use a lot of smilie faces and stuff unless I really mean them. But, I do have some friends that always always ALWAYS use them, and quite frankly it gets annoying.
