You can kill yourself, by diluting the electrolytes in your body too much. It is called water poisoning, I believe.

drinking too much water makes your stomach full..you won't be able to eat your meals if your stomach is full..i don't think of any other disadvantages of drinking much of it..^_^

I actually try to drink a cup or two of water before I eat (I need to lose some weight), so it does help me control how much I eat. Since my body is used to being overfed, I eat normal portions and my stomach says it wants more even though it doesn't NEED more. So until it can learn to be happy with enough food to make it satisfied, I try this method. But, if you aren't trying to lose weight, then yes, you won't be able to eat as much and you'll feel full!

Nope, I think drinking plenty of water is always beneficial to the body, yeah you tend to pee a lot if you take in plenty of water, but peeing a lot also means you are washing out toxins in the body, so in a sense it seems to be all good.
But I guess maybe there is a disadvantage we don't know about, since everything taken in excess will be harmful, maybe electrolyte imbalance (??) or something, so I think take it in moderation and just enough quantities that is recommended for safe use. :)

Hi....HelScream
Drinking too much of water at a time will be very uncomfortable. The stomach will be full. There will not apetitie to eat. Frequent peeing sensation will be uncomfortale. The intake of water should not be at a time. Try to have a glass of water once in an hour or once in two hour.

I think that the fact that you can have water toxcity from drinking too much water is defintely a factor and I think there are many things that can affect it. I think ther are some people who take it to excess, other than that I think there are some people who take advantage of a good thing whihc is what drinkgin water can do.

I enjoy drinking water, moreso than most anything else. I just do not drink a lot of water at one time. In hot weather an active person needs a lot of water, but needs it spread throughout the day.

Well if you drink too much in too short a time, your system may not have enough time to adjust to so much volume. Then it may pose a problem, just like when you have too much to eat in so short a time. However, there could indeed be bad effects from drinking water, although we know that water has a lot of benefits. Strangely, I learned about these bad effects from an article about how water can help cure a lot of diseases. The article described specific number of days to drink water to rid the body of specific diseases - or altogether avoid them. For instance, 4 glasses of water everyday before taking anything else in the morning for 180 consecutive days can save one from all types of cancers! But then, the problems that water can cause is more related to the timing, rather from water itself. The article advises drinking water 45 minutes before eating anything. Also, it is best to let the system rest the same number of minutes after drinking water, before eating anything. Indeed, other articles talk about the disruption water can cause on the process of digestion, resulting in poor processing of the food in our digestive systems.

If you are drinking to much water you could be loosing nutriments, now giving you body time to absorb them. You can even give yourself water poisoning. Best to do all things in moderation.

yes you are right my friend after knowing all the bad side effects of drinking too much water I guess drinking it moderately would be the right thing to do, even if it's way too hot.

I will feel that my stomach is full and if it is full then I cannot be walking too much as well as doing a work, I can even vomit everything I have inside my stomach which is not good either. So apart from going to the toilet from time to time I might have a problem to feel normal.
