now a days they have all kinds of security in schools. i know my childs school boasts about their procedures to keep out strangers (this is and elementary school). yet i can't count the times i've walked in and signed my name on the visitor list and strolled down the hallways and no one askes me who i am or has me show i d. this is crazy!!! how do they know i'm supposed to be there? i worry about my childs saftey when i know i can just stroll in when i want. whos to say that some crazy person can't come in and so the same. this school does have good education, but do i risk saftey for education or sacrifice my childs education for their saftey. education and saftey of my kids are bith very important to me but with the world today you never know what could happen. am i being overprotective? i don't think so. i just know what could happen and it worries me that my childrens school doesn't worry about it too.

I agree, that happened to my elementary school years ago some man (he didn't have any weapons) but who's been convicted of several crimes just walked the halls of my school until finally someone stopped him and ever since then they have hall checks to make sure strangers aren't just walking around the school.

that is a great idea. i plan on bringing this up to my childrens school. i know they always have someone in the halls. now they just need to start checking that everyone in the hallways belongs there. i just want my kids to be in safe environment. if you think of anything else that might help, let me know.
