Hello all! Yep. Got a short and rude response to my last discussion, "Home made gnocchis gone wrong". Been threaten to be trolled if I continue to use "big words". What with this troll thing? Anyway. What big words did I use? "Gnocchi" and "pesto". Guilty of charges. Gnocchi: a type of pasta. Pesto: a sauce made with basil, garlic and olive oil - basically. Could be more fancy. Now, why buddy here would choose to threaten to shut someone off, remove their posting, stop their communication if that communication's only offense is to use words he doesn't understand the meaning of? Or just being thrown this type of hostile/antagonistic response? Why buddy wouldn't look up those words he doesn't understand in a dictionary or on line, taking the opportunity to expand on his vocabulary and knowledge and IQ? English is not my native language. Believe it or not, I learned the basics by watching old American movies - from the 30s to the more recent ones - and by reading books in English with dictionaries. English dictionaries and bilingual dictionaries. All right. His response gives way to this question: What are the real intentions of this person? Because the effect is way more than not funny - it's abusive in nature. It is anti-social, period. It might be the lack of education or vocabulary but this person has choosen to attack and attack covertly, under a nickname and under the pretense of being humoristic (the "troll" thing). Whereas the communication is not vicious, blatantly or covertly destructive, there is no licence for censure, rude or not. Sites come and go. And, big ones at that. Some people - a minority - are bent on destruction just for the sake of destruction. The majority of people are decent people. I salute them here at myLot. Do not think you can't do anything about this state of affair. Nowadays, there are many channels one can use on line so to be heard. Obviously, the power that be here at myLot need to be made aware of this situation or, be made to "listen" and take note, start investigating and apply some "remedies." Many a successfull company out there have new applicants fill up a personality test. It is not possible to cheat on that test - the cheating will show as such. Do you think buddy here would be hired after that test? Again, this type of response is not creative. Causes more harm than good. In actuality, if we want to be more accurate, this is not a response: It is a REACTION. Big difference. "Don't understand what you're saying, so shut up!" See? Instead of, "Hey! What's gnocchi and pesto? Sounds funny! Is it good?" Heck, I would have given him a recipe and play a game: You do it from scratch and you post your results! It's OK with me if you succeed. I'm a lousy cook anyway. (Well, not that lousy.) Because I've seen this typical reaction of yours more than once here in myLot, now all I have to tell you buddy is: Sorry if you have been clammed up yourself one too many times, but you can't take it on others. Not OK. "Treat others like you want them to treat you." Or, "Don't do unto others what you don't want them do to you." That's just two of a few other precepts for happiness. Hurray

Don´t worry! There are always rude people everywhere. Do you make your own gnocci? If so, could you give me the recipe? I love gnocchi but can only eat them out and not all restaurants make them well. As for pesto, don´t bother with recipes for me. I grow my basil, make my pesto to last for the rest of the year if my grandchildren let me. Have a nice day!!!

I really don't know what this persons trouble was, I guess it was because the person didn't know what this two things was. By the way I think your English is real good, for you to have learned it off of movies and some books. I'm beginning to think the more I'm on this site that there are some people that come on here just to start trouble. I'm seeing this more and more on here as time goes by.

Thank you sweet; Mike 197601 is writing that the [troll] comment is not there anymore. I checked and that's right. Been removed. Good thing. As for the other comments (acid mushroom, etc.) I don't know what to make of them because the way they are written, they might address the troll boy or myself. (In the 70s, I did take acid mushrooms - and other crap. Did a good and thorough Purification Program to remove all that stuff out of my system. Bad stuff.) And thanks for mentioning my English. I worked hard at it but in an interested way. I really wanted to learn it and because I like to write, I wanted to learn not only how to speak it but also how to write. This is why I paid a lot of attention when reading books in English, how the sentences were constructed. Otherwise, you might be right on the trouble makers. Still, it's up to us to put up with it or counter-attack when it's really too covert and harmful or obvious and rude and all out of place. All right dear. Have a good day. Hurray

Some people are just rude. I would ignore this person. It appears that you have a good grasp on the english language here and so if you use a word here or there that we don't understand....most people would ask you what it meant.
