Hello fellow myLotters,
Inspired by someone who thought Windows XP could be a possible candidate for the best OS, I had to share my experiences with Linux. Although it has somewhat of a learning curve, a Linux System allows complete control over one's computer, with very little third party, or proprietary software required. Linux is also insanely faster compared to Windows OS'es, allowing it to be run on almost ancient hardware. Speaking of hardware, no OS has the hardware compatibility, support and documentation that Linux can boast of. Finally, Linux users do not have to worry about constant updates to their systems due to bugs and memory leaks, nor do they have to worry about spyware, malware and viruses.
Linux comes in a variety of 'flavours' termed distributions, and can be downloaded legally for free at their various websites. Easy to use distributions include: Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Sabayon Linux and openSUSE.
What are your opinions of Linux and how many of you use it?
Happy myLotting!
