do you have 5 to 8 hours of sound sleep? Do you frequently awake, like for drinking water, going to the loo, phone ring etc. if you are not working, do you sleep during the day time. people with blood pressure often take naps during the day, because of giddiness. My mom has BP, and whenever she finds time she takes a nap. i go to bed late and wake up late, however i don feel that i have good amount of sound sleep. i sleep for long hours, i think my sub conscious mind does not sleep. do you feel something like that.
thanks for your response

i'd like to sleep at least 8 hours a day but most of the time i only get around 6-7 hours if i have to get up for work the next morning. if during weekends or if i'm not working, i'll usually sleep more

I am normally sleeping 7-8 hrs these days and it is good enough for a day.
As I am sleeping late in the night getting up late in the morning I am not sleeping during the day time.
Well when I was going to gym in the morning I was sleeping in the afternoon for 2 hours as I was getting up early in the morning.
But I think I will be sleeping 6-8 hours in the future too. It might be 6-9 also when I grow older.

I don't know it's sound sleep or not, but everytime I wake up I feel fresh. I sleep for about 7 hours and yes, I take a nap everyday about 2 hours or so.. I think too much sleep is not good too. How do you know you don't have good amount of sound sleep? You sleep for long hours right? do you feel tired instead of fresh after wake up? If it's the case, then try to have a fix sleep schedule and make sure you don't have any problem that bother you or something you always think. this can make your sleep quality bad. Try to relax, drink hot milk and sleep deeply^^,,
Sometimes I feel like that,, tired,, but this happened if I sleep for too long. I the most important thing is your sleep quality, not quantity.

I normally sleep for 6 to 7 hours now and it's sufficient if I have a peaceful sleep throughout the night. I realized if I dreamt a lot during my sleep, it would be very tiring the next day. Old folks used to say that the mind is not resting if you are dreaming while you sleep. Nope, I don't wake up middle of the night to drink water or going to the restroom....and I don't take afternoon nap. I get headache whenever I take afternoon nap..

students do big mistake by sleeping less during exams, by doing so, their minds are not relaxed.. this could affect both mental and physical health. 6 to 8 hours sleep is very important. im glad you are sleeping well. good luck

On days where i have work the next day, i usually sleep for approximately 9 hours or so but if it were a weekend, i would sleep late and wake up late, accumulating about the same hours. Whenever i sleep, i never seem to wake up in the middle of the night to get anything. And i never really take a nap during the day, perhaps a rest, but not a nap unless i really need it. I'm usually active during the day and extremely tired during the night. Perhaps that is why i sleep so well? =D

hi rickiely, you have a systematic sleeping pattern. i appreciate it. if you are active during the day, you get tired at night and can have a good sound sleep. thats really good.. thanks for the response here. good luck!

I sleep for around 8-9 hours every night and that is just how much I need. Less than that and I get quite tired early on in the day and if I have too much then I can feel tired too.
I think the most important thing is to have a routine, and one that works for you. If you are still feeling tired even though you are getting lots of sleep maybe you should try and change the time that you go to bed - try sleeping earlier instead of later and wake up earlier - you might feel better.
Also, make sure you are not having too much sleep as that is not good for anyone either.

Hi, i normally sleep at 12 o'clock or earlier and wake up at seven in the morning. So i'm having about six hours plus or seven hours of sleep each day, during working days. During weekends, i will sleep more than usual, usually more than eight hours and wake up naturally (not by clock's alarm, lol) when i've had enough sleep.
Having enough sleeping hours are really very important for our body health. If we do not have enough sleep, our body's imune system will weak down and we may easily fall sick. In addition, of course, we will not have a fresh mind to do any work if we do not have enough sleep.

I usually sleep about 6 to 8 hours a day. I prefer to sleep late... usually in the morning already about 2 am to 3 am. During times when I don't have duty, I usually wake up late. I always feel sleepy when I wake up early, but there is nothing I can do. I have been checking my blood pressure and there has been no effect so far on my sleep patterns. I guess, the effect of constantly doing this would be noticeable after a number of years.

I have night owl tendencies so at the week end I tend to go to bed late and sleep for about 10 hours. However during the week I always get to bed before midnight and have a seven hour sleep. Any less than that during the week I find myself totally shattered the next evening and go to bed earlier to catch up! I avoid naps during the day at week ends as that is absolutely fatal and my sleep pattern is ruined totally.

you are right basil, if i take a nap during the day, i struggle to sleep at night... then the whole routine changes. even i m a night owl.. i go to bed late night. however if we maintain a good sleep for 6 to 8 hours, is good enough for mind and body. thanks for your response here.

I get about 5 hours of sleep during the week, but about 10-12 on the weekends. I sleep very soundly once I get asleep, partly because I'm so tired and partly because I have the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. I usually don't take naps during the day, but sometimes I will come back from class and be pretty wiped, and so I will take a little nap for no more than an hour or two.
