Hello Mylotters,
I believe many people skip one of their meals to stay healthy. But I was doubting that, because it may lead to stomach ulcers. Today I was so late to office..Thats why I had to skip my breakfast.. But I take my lunch a bit early as I was very hungry...Is it good to skip meals??What do you think about it??Have you ever skipped any of your Meals??If yes, then which meal??Please be free to share your views.
Happy Mylotting!

Hi tuyakiki!
You did the right thing by taking your lunch early. If you are hungry, you cannot perform your tasks in office. I think once in a while, we can skip our meals. I do not take anything in dinner, specially on Sunday nights. I just take a glass of milk and some fruits instead of going for proper dinner on Sundays. On weekdays I do not feel like skipping my meals. Doctors also advice that we should keep on consuming/eating something after every 3-4 hours, may be in small quantities to re-charge ourselves. Heavy meals should not be taken specially at night.

It is never good to skip meals. In fact, the call is now to eat many small meals a day, especially for health reasons. Skipping meal can also lower the body metabolic's rate which is affects one who is trying to lose weight. If I were to skip a meal, it would be breakfast though it is the most important.

I do not eat breakfast at all. I am not fat or obese, its just that I do not like to eat anything during breakfast. I just drink coffee in the morning and usually take my lunch earlier than the rest. I think its just a matter of getting used to. I know that people say that its unhealthy considering that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Maybe perhaps later on, I will be able to find a way to improve my morning appetite.

hey, nice topic. I would say that it is not healthy and a good practice to skip any meal. I see that the "busy" people always love to skip their breakfast but one should remember that every meal has its own importance to keep ourselfs fresh and fit.
Lets get one thing clear - we are not doing a favor by eating food - we eat food so that we survive to do our activities. however, there is no harm in skipping one course of meal once in a blue moon - it is just that you should not make it a hbit.
Happy eating and have a great health! :)

Hi,
I know definitely, that you are not suppose to skip breakfast. This is the most important meal of the day, which actually kick-starts your metabolism in burning mode in the morning. For lunch, I try to have a salad with plenty of green leaves, and colorful vegetables, some type of fruit and something whole wheat. My dinner is not always the best choice, and I eat, sometimes, way past the recommended cutoff time, 7:00 p.m.. I really don't deliberately skip any meals.

I don't think it is good to skip meals, although I have done it. I tended to get very hungry by the evening, because it was lunch I skipped, and then I over-ate and felt uncomfortable. However, we are all different when it comes to eating, and what is good for one person is not good for another. - Derek

I think if I had to skip a meal it would be dinner. Since you have been all night without eating, your body really needs to be fed. In fact, I have often heard that it would be better to eat many small meals rather than just one or two big meals. That way, your stomach doesn't stretch out as much and you don't feel hungry. I know that is what has been suggest to diabetics sometimes to keep them from having to go on medications. I think if you don't have time to eat a full meal in the morning, you should try to at least eat a piece of fruit. When you don't eat, your body thinks you are starving and it will hold onto fat so you will have a store. Have a great day!!!

Hi KIKI,
Yes skipping a meal could be good for your health. But you shouldn’t have to worry – or feel guilty – about missing a meal. The bottom line is that if you’d rather not eat, don’t. Provided you’re hitting the mark for recommended nutrients, the frequency at which you take them in will have little bearing on your overall health.

Hello tuyakiki this is checkmail and do think that is not a good idea to skip meals, neither would i like to skip my meal.Basically we eat food as our body requires it as an nutrition source for producing energy. If body cannot produce enough energy, it cannot function to its ability. Our overall activity gets affected due to skipping of meals, its must to eat reularly our meal. And yes it leads to ulcer and many more stomach illness, which are really serve in nature to our health. It is better to enjoy our regular meal and stay healthy.

Hi,yes it is good to skip meals especially at night times, because after taking dinner we use to go bed, which leads to cause ur body gain weight and some indigestion problems...instead of meals we can take some fruits or butter milk which will be easily digested to us.

Actually it's not good to skip meals but for me, I don't take breakfast but I just take my health supplement in the morning which consist of Tupperware brand organic lacto fibre mix with Nutrilite protein powder. Then I go about doing housework, cook and work online till about 12.30pm and have lunch which consist of rice and dishes. I have very light dinner which is sometimes bread or biscuit dipped in cold milk, or oats. That's my everyday meal. But I would eat a more heavy dinner if I go hiking. other than that, it's meals like that for me every day without breakfast. Don't know if this is good but it's fine for me.

I'm not sure what causes ulcers, skipping meals or stress. I've been skipping breakfast for umpteen years, and maybe my stomach has gotten used to it. But I remember suffering from bad gastric pains during the times when I was bogged down with work stress - deadlines & targets. Now that I'm working part-time (more flexible and less stressful), I've not any gastric pains for a while. And I don't take breakfasts as well.

In my own experienced I can escape breakfast
but not often. I will try to eat early at lunch
and recovered the hungriness in the morning.
After it or a day I will have a headache of escaping
it. It's true that itcan lead to ulcers if done usual
in our lifestyle.
Hence that I know the side effects I will try to complete
my meals daily so that I have a healthy body, mind and soul.

Hi tuyakiki,
I always skip my meal. And I used to it. Most of the time I only take my lunch or dinner. But I always make sure I had my breakfast. Breakfast is important as it will give some energy to me. If I didn't had my breakfast, I can't skip my lunch. But i think I can skip is my coffee. I will felt dizzy if I hadn't take it especially early in the morning.
Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

It's not good to skip meals. Meals are very important and the body indeed needs it. But sometimes,I skip meals due to reasons like losing weight and the like. I make sure that I eat breakfast for it is the most important meal of the day. I skip meals during dinner. I just eat meals for dinner thrice a week. And I'm used to that routine. I just hope I won't suffer in a certain consequence of having a habit like that.

you should definitely have breakfast and dinner. lunch, in my opinion is unnecessary. i prefer, when i can to have my breakfast at around 11am and then dinner at around 6, that way i can last between the two without another meal. if i get hungry i have a snack such as a biscuit or fruit at around 3 or 4pm.
