I have only written maybe one or two articles this month for AC. I really need to get some writing done. I keep getting distracted though. I thought I would be doing more this week and so far I haven't. I need to focus. Any suggestions?
I have lots of articles written. I just haven't submitted any of them yet. I haven't even typed some of them. I write some articles by hand first, because I will let my daughter play on the computer. Some articles I type into Word first and then submit article. I just started doing that to save my articles. Someone said I may need a copy of them someday.

I have the same problem as you, lack of focus. If I was active in numerous places(AC included) I could be earning much more then I am now online. I guess if you're like me and writing potential figures of your earnings could get you excited. Such as doing the math for let's say 10 articles.
You start adding up all the money you could be making it could get you really excited, especially if you've been saving up for a number of different things. It works for me, for the most part.
Good to keep copies of all your articles just for the heck of it.

I wish I could add up all the potential money. I don't even do that when I sit to write articles. I just either get distracted or have to make phone calls. It's usually a thing where everyday life just takes place and interrupts me. I thought I would be writing a lot more when my kids went back to school. This is the third day of school so I have hopes for today. LOL

Louie maybe you could write some sort of humor based article about the process of writing for money and how thinking about all the potential earnings affects your ability to write. Start with a journal entry and then convert it.

Don't feel bad, I haven't written anything new for AC since I started! Most of my published content is slide shows. Interestingly enough it seems more people are reading those two I reposted from helium than what I was getting at helium.

I find that there is a totally different audience for Associated Content than there is for Helium, so it is worth publishing them both places if you can! Not to mention the extra money comes in handy in the long run.

It's easier to get views at Associated Content. For the life of me I do not take the time to even try to find articles at Helium to read. If someone even commented on mine, I wouldn't know how to find their articles except to search for their name. LOL Helium isn't user friendly. AC isn't as friendly as it used to be, but you can still pull up articles under categories quickly.
Since you are getting more views at AC, maybe you should try to post all your work.

I am still figuring it all out. Next I will have to figure out how to use hubpages to direct traffic to the AC and helium articles. I have been getting curious about Bukisa but my blog is badly neglected and now I have two of them...
I will have a little down time at the end of next week and at least a week longer than I thought before I go back to the classroom (which is why I really need to get busy and try and make some upfront money at AC).

I am the same way. This week I am in a real slump with the writing. I have lots of ideas, but haven't written them up. I try and focus on what is requested this month, and there have been several reminder emails from Associated Content (they are looking for health and beauty articles, real estate, and pet topics), but I feel the month slipping away from me. There are other demands, and I am just getting over being sick, so I am still sluggish, too.
Hopefully things will turn around for both of us. If you find the secret to motivation, let me know!

What vacation? HAHAHA. I don't think a vacation is ever a vacation, especially when you visit family and have two kids with you. You're still expected to help the family. We worked in the garden and believe me, that is my least favorite thing to do!

Maybe it's just because you were sick. I have no excuse except I have been away so long I am just drained. I don't know if I will be able to get any of my articles typed at this point. LOL
I thought I could motivate myself with money but that isn't even working. LOL It's pretty bad. Maybe our muse took a vacation.

Any I am glad you are feeling better! It's hard to get motivated to do anything when you are sick.
MommaJ you just need a vacation from your vacation!

Oh dear - I save copies of every single article I write! They are my words. Afraid I'm not much help in the other area - I don't post that many articles to AC, think I'm at 50 for a years time now and that includes several slideshows. I also do the same thing - handwrite a lot of articles or stories during my lunch hour at work then they set in notebook for weeks before I finally get around to typing them... I too have had some distractions this past week but back on track now. Will be submitting several things to AC in the morning (late now and tired just playing a bit before bed).

The articles you have already published and not saved you can always copy from the site (before it vanishes) also could take a 'screen shot' of the site showing the date stamp (when it was published on the site). Would at least give you some proof of 'when YOU wrote it'... Dear there are people who plagerize discussions from myLot - some people will steal anything and try to claim it as theirs.

That's just sad. If you are going to use other's words you should make sure the other person won't mind or at the very least, they won't find out. LOL I've been honored that people at least mention my stuff and they say who wrote it or how to find it. Some people give direct links...

I just started saving copies because so many people weren't keeping them and when they would submit the article would disappear. I wouldn't be able to handle that. I think I'd have some sort of meltdown. I also do it because in the forums people were complaining that others were using their work elsewhere. I didn't think there were that type of person on writing sites but I guess so.

I would suggest making a goal and then sticking to it. When I want to get a lot of articles submitted I make a goal of how many articles I am going to write that day and then I do it. I usually do an outline of the articles the night before so that writing the articles the next day really isnt that hard. I know that sometimes its hard to find the motivation to write though.
