Well, i was thinking of signing up for either an alertpay or paypal account because i'm going to be earning some extra cash online. Although, i'm having some trouble deciding on which one, currently im leaning towards paypal as most sites use paypal and it's more popular. which one do you think would be a better choice?
Also, are there age requirements for either a paypal or alertpay account? Cause i'm only 13.
thanks for your input!

I think you might have a hard time signing up for either of sites since you have to be at least 18 years old to sign up on both of those sites.
However, someone people get past that age rule. If you want to try I'd recommend signing up with Paypal. Most websites have paypal as one of the payment processors. I don't care for alert pay because if you want to withdraw money there is a 50 cent fee. On Paypal, it is free. Plus when you want to put money in your Paypal account from your bank account it only takes about a day, whereas with Alertpay it takes up to a week or more to complete.
For any payment processors online, if want to link it to a bank account open a SEPARATE bank account from your regular bank accounts (if you have any). If a payment processors suspects something they will freeze the linked bank account.

If they found out they would at least close your account, and then who knows what would happen with your balance there. I recommend reading the terms of service before signing up, it might answer your question better than I can.

So wait, I signed up for paypal 5 months ago and now I'm 18. Will my account close when I link to my bank account?

if I were you. I would chose to sign up for paypal... I am using paypal also... I'm from Philippines.... As you can see, almost all the people and sites are using paypal as their payment method... Paypal is most commonly known by all and is widely used... so better use paypal...

why not sign up for both? that way when a site only offers alertpay or vise versa paypal for cashout then you have alternate options. I personally like Paypal better though. And as for the age requirement, I'm not so sure about that but try reading up on the paypal guidelines to find out.Good Luck!

If you are in the US Paypal may be a good option. I have used it for a couple of years and have never had a problem. They are fast and free as long as you don't having more than $500 going through your account. Not sure what it is on Alertpay. Ebay using Paypal too.

I think it is better to have a Paypal account. Because I think Paypal is widely used via the net. I have both accounts, but I haven't got money from Alertpay yet because the websites I joined are scams. They have never paid for me so that my Alertpay is still empty.
I love China

PayPal or AlertPay are actually the same, means, they have the same function. So what you need to consider are:
1. Your country - check the coverage of PayPal and AlertPay, which one is available for your country
2. Which money making sites - I am not sure from where you will get your earning. You need to check your earning sites are using which processors. If they use PayPal more then you better sign up for paypal.
3. Easy withdrawal to your bank account - you need to check whether they can transfer the money to your bank, related to your country.
For the rules, you need to be 18 years old. You can use your parents or one of your family member to sign up with the payment processor. You need to consider also that you will need a credit card to certified your account with paypal and need ID or some supporting documents to certified with alertPay. So you better prepare for those before signing up or deciding which one do you want to choose.

I have both a PayPal account and an Alertpay account. I hardly ever use my Alertpay account. I definitely prefer PayPal. Most places I shop accept PayPal. I think you have to be 18 to get a regular PayPal account, but PayPal has "Student Accounts" that anyone 13 and up can use! You can learn more about their Student Accounts at https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/UserAgreement/ua/PolicyStudentAccount-outside You have to be at least 18 to have an Alertpay account.
