Why do conservatives support corporate welfare but are against public welfare?

I don't really understand this. Why is it alright to dish out hundreds of billions of dollars to big cooperations but distributing money to struggling families isn't right?

True conservatives do not support corporate welfare. It's bad for business and is one of the reasons that families are struggling.
