Which softwares are the best for a beginner to be able to learn how to do almost everything in 3ds max. I am very interested in learning this program. I own 2009 and 2008 and I want to know if there are any good full courses or DVD's that you have found to teach a beginner how to model from top to bottom. I am so confused when trying to learn this software, please I need some kind of tutorials. Thanks in advance

Hi, again
look I've been learning to use 3D max using the tutorials included in the software and I think they are pretty good. There are books about 3D max that explain even in a more detailed and basic way the tools and how to use them. But I don't know if it is possible to find the 2009 book yet, try to get it though.
I suggest try to get the 2008 or 2007 book and used the 2009 software, they usually add or simplify tools, so an older version of the book will work for a newer version of the software in all its basic and most of the advance tools.
Try searching on the websites I suggest in the other discussion:
fullreleases.com
directoriowarez.com
mocosoft.com or moco2.com (I've seen 3D max books and applications here, like texture packs)
I hope you find it useful.

Thank you for this helpful information. I am very happy to see you on here, this is exactly what I needed. I too have watched all of the tutorials that come with the program and they are very helpful, and yes I was indeed looking for a more detailed tutorial. I actually did find one which is for 3ds max 6, and I used it with 9, just as you proposed. If you want me to share with you a link of this free video I found I will surely attempt to upload it on sendspace and send you a link here on mylot so that you can see it too. The video I found is by someone I think knows very much about how to teach this software, if you add me as a friend and comment back or send me a PM I will be sure to hook you up with a download link. Thanks again and good luck with your future modeling! :-)

There are really a handful of choices out there. But I started out learning 3D with 3D Studio from the very first version they had long ago which was DOS based. Learning 3D in any sense isn't really that easy. Sure we can just pop in a few primitives from any program available, but that is very basic. To really get yourself emmersed in 3D you need to dig deeper into the levels of 3D modeling. 3D Studio Max is one of them. You can easily learn it from hundreds of free online tutorials online. Of course there are always a lot of books about it. You can also try Maya which most professionals also use. This also has a lot of free online tutorials. Have fun!
