Acid reflux disease Treatment is also referred to as the treatment of Gastro-Esophageal-Reflux Disease {GERD}. This disease occur when some acidic content in the digestive system of the body mix with other materials such as food substances and make a back-flow movement back to the Esophageal. In most cases, the back-flow materials remain in the lower part of the Esophageal resulting in severe health complications such as nausea and Heartburn. Heartburn and nausea that results from this disease causes serious pain and discomfort to the patient and may result in a serious damage to the Esophageal if not treated on time.

The best is going to vary from person to person. Nexium works for me. I do not eat close to bedtime either.
In the past I have had the head of my bed raised on bricks, and slept in a recliner too. Laying flat is hard on acid reflux.
Mine has improved as I have lost weight too, but it will never go away. They say there are invasive treatments out there, but that would be a last resort for me as mine is under control with the nexium.

I really like kefir. it soothes the discomfort and helps things heal. Also not eating too late. Also I just take a over the counter prilosec in the morning.

First off you need to stop eating the foods that bring this on. Bicarb is cheap you can get it at the store under baking soda, better than any medication. I know because ,I am allergic to all oils fried or not. You can get cancer of the throat if you let it go untreated. Talk to a nutritionist ,instead of going to the doctor for yet another pill to cure something you can do yourself.

I do not like to take medicines so I tried the all natural way. I cut out caffeine, especially chocolate! Did away with sugars and strong spicey foods. Then I also stopped over eating. I no longer take medicine for acid relux. Occasionally if I don't follow these rules, particularly the over eating one, I have a flare up and have to go back to eating super bland foods for a couple of weeks. I seem to be able to manage it with no overeating mostly.
