Can you diagnose my dream?

I had a dream that i was visiting the house that i grew up in. When i went into the house i noticed that the dog i had was in the backyard. Its a black lab/golden retreiver mix. Her fur was black in color. I knew the gate to the backyard was closed but someone she got out and was running around in the front. About the time i realized this i got a text message from my dad saying "Happy 2010" I was a little shocked because I forgot it was new years day. By the way the dog in the dream was put to sleep about 2 years ago. Any insight would be appreciated.
