I am really guilty with this. When i go at a mall or certain boutiques and spot something that I like, I do have the tendency to buy it right away. I always think in my mind that if i put off buying that dress or blouse, then it might no longer be available when i come back. And besides, its my own money that I worked for so I deserve to spend it however i like. is this guilt feeling natural or do I really have to reconsider my shopping habits? let me know what you guys think...

Make a shopping list. And get the money you only might need.

A shopping list is also great especially if you are doing some groceries and also never to do your grocery with an empty stomach, it makes it harder for you to stick on your list if you are hungry. If you are hungry, you tend to buy more food items that otherwise are not really needed.

It is your money, but impulse shopping isn't good for you. You could end up wasting a lot of money and/or missing really great deals by just buying the first thing you buy. One way for me to curb it is to do research on the thing I want. This helps me to decide which model to get and where to get it from.

I've gotten really good at knowing whats in my bank account and knowing what bills are coming up that I have to pay for before I spend any large amount of money, or heck, even any small amount of impulse purchases. Sometimes though, I do break but usually it's something that I had planned on buying or knew that I had to buy before hand and I just decided that it would be an OK time to go ahead and buy it. The easiest way to stop buying those items that you hadn't intended on is to leave the money, the debit/credit cards and checkbooks at home. If you don't have money you can't spend it. Also, of course if you avoid going out anyway, that'll help a lot as well.

haha! girls can resist such things right? but it is good that we are aware of our spending habits so we still can do something to control how much money we spend on such things.

The best way to avoid impulsive buying, when you find something you really like to buy in the mall, they say that you have to sleep on it and after you wake up and you realize you still want the item, then you can buy it but for me most of the time, the urge to buy fades upon waking up so I get to save money rather than buying the item on the spot.
