Lot of Cricket experts were quick to point out that England won the Second Test more because of questionable tactics by Ricky Ponting rather than the talent of English players. It sure was. Now just consider, Monty Panesar and James Anderson batted for nearly 11 precious overs and still Ponting did not find it fit to bring his Best Bowler, Mitchell Johnson. Strange tactics. isnt it?? Ricky Ponting when he took over from Steve Waugh had great bowlers in Glen McGrath and Shane Warne. He also had a Batting genius in Mattew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist. All these Quality players were so hugely talented that they take the match away from any oppossiton on any pitch on any day under any conditions and thus managed to hide Ponting's captaining disablity. With these players retirement, his skill or the lack of it, is there for everyone to see. I am sure he should and will be replaced very soon by Michale Clarke or Mike Hussey. The earlier the better for Australian Cricket and World Cricket. What do you say mylotters???

Yes he did a blunder by continuing with Nathan Hauritz while bowling to the last wicket pair of Monty Panesar & James Anderson. But usually captains come underfire when their team lose.Alan Border , Mark Taylor , Steve Waugh had great players in their teams that they never lost & got all the credit. But sorry to Ricky Ponting as he doesn't have a good team at his disposal. He might have done some mistakes but that should not cost him his captaincy.Even if he is replaced , Clarke & Hussey are good contenders but Hussey is not in good form & Clarke plays well in patches.Thats why the selectors have prolonged the captains post for Ponting.

Continuing with Nathan Hauritz was only one of the many mistakes Ponting made. Acutally this is only a small one. He has this uncanny ability to make mistakes, the saving grace for him has been the fighting spirit of the Australian cricketers who continue to back him to the hilt. You are right, if Hussey had been in good form, he would have a blind choice.

Replace ponting.. That is the first thing aussies should have done long back. The main reason for Aussies downfall has been "The Tactical Ponting Decisions". lol.. I think it is better to take him down and find another captain. Mike Hussey would make a handy captain.

I think Hussey would make a Good captian. He has a cool head on his shoulders. Normally Australian selectors are very strict with their players but the reverse is true of their behavior with their Skippers. They should be strict and boot out Ponting.
