I am just wondering if where do you usually focus? Writing a new discussion or
answering to the discussion? In my situation, I preferred to respond to different
discussions rather than posting a new discussion. If you are just responding to a
discussion, you can post as many post as you can. unlike with making a new discussion,
it takes time. And the article or discussion should be a unique and catch the
interest of the responder. What about you, which o you prefer and why?

I usually focus on both the things. I respond to discussions which interests me and also start new discussions when I have any problem in my life or I want to have the opinion of people at that time I prefer starting a new discussion. If you are considering earning money then both of them give same amount of money and it is better to answer discussions because you can't start huge number of discussions everyday but you can answer a lot of discussions.
Happy mylotting....

I think we have got the same way of mylotting. As you said I create a new discussion as and when the need arises. Maybe responding is rather easy and worthwhile. I do not create a discussion voluntarily unless I feel it is necessary otherwise I am okay with responding.

I think i am not that much lucky to get so many responses to my discussions even i post unique, quality discussions.I realy feel bad in such situation. I prefer to respond to others so i rarely post any discussion. But i think there should be a balance so if you realy have anything interesting then dont stop yourself to post it. Good luck and happy mylotting as well!

If you think you don't get a lot of responses in making discussions, you can focus in posting a respond in every discussion that you make. There are lots of benefits that you can have, you maybe getting the best response for the said discussion and you can also get additional earnings. just keep being active here and you will get good earnings.

Like you, I prefer to respond to other peoples discussions. But I do start some of my own discussions, just not as often as other people might.
I find that there are some people on mylot that don't really respond to discussions started by other members. They just create lots of discussions themselves. While that is their choice, I think they are missing out on a lot of interesting discussions by doing this.

Yes, because they think that they will have a good earnings when they make their own discussion. I think responding to a discussion is easier than making a discussion.

I am actually comfortable with both activities. I enjoy posting new discussions and love commenting as well. Time isn't really a problem for me, I can easily think of what to post in here and I do sometimes get ideas from other sites to get discussions in here. Cheers!

Okay, good for you that you are versatile. With me I got no idea on what to write, sometimes, it takes to me an hour to think of interesting topic.

I prefer responding to discussions as well especially those in my interests or something random that catches my eye. But when I'm curious about something I'd like to start a discussion myself just to know what others may advice or express regarding my topic.

I used to post a discussion every once in a while, but I stopped bothering. The types of subjects that I'm interested in didn't get much in the way of responses. Some of them didn't get any responses at all. So now I just comment on the discussions that other people create. I've streamlined my Mylotting so that I don't have to spend too much time finding good discussions. I check the new stuff in my personal interests, then go to the "new" discussions. I can skim through all that fairly quickly. If I don't find anything, I may go through a couple of pages of the "top" discussions. Sometimes I just skip a day or two and don't bother with Mylot when there's been a few days without anything interesting.

Yes, you have a point there. It is not easy to get responses in all the discussions that we make, so it very important that we think first if that discussion will be getting a response or not. Because if in the case that it did not get any response, your discussion will be useless and you just wasted your time. thank you so much for sharing.may you have a great day!

i also prefer answering discussion rather than posting discussion.
It takes time to think about genuine discussion and start posting it. Meanwhile answering the discussion is very easy. It doesn't take much time also.
When i checked i found that i am able to answer average 15 replies per hour. But i am able to start only 5-6 discussions.

You are definitely right. I also prefer answering to a discussion rather than making my own discussion. It is good that you can make 15 replies in one hour. For me, it is quite hard to do that. Keep mylotting!!

at this time, i also like responding to discussions...i find it easier coz the topic is already there and all i have to do is share my opinion and comment on it...but there are still time when some ideas pop up my mind, then i start a discussion...just depends on my mood and anyway, i can still earn and enjoy in both ways...
have a nice day!

Okay, better to try both. But almost all the responses here is they want to respond to the discussion rather than making their own discussion.

Hm.. I usually do both, both posting discussions and responding to the discussions but it well depends if I could think of any ideas to create a discussions or not, during the time I cannot think of anything to write about, I just keep finding interesting topics to respond. I find it both interesting, so I like to do both. Right now, I cannot think of anything to write about to make a discussion so I just keep looking the discussions to respond to :-)

Hi! I prefer to respond to discussions, than starting them. I have started a few discussions, but i usually am left at a blank on something to start. Sometimes i can find a discussion that someone has started and when i read it, it just jumps out at me that i know just what they are talking about. Or i can find a discussion that peaks my interest and i just have to find out what the discussion is all about. With starting a discussion it is harder, because you can think of something that might be of interest to you, but then it is not of any interest to anyone else.

Most of the answers of the responders is same with you. If we are really going to analyze, it is easier to respond rather than to make a discussion which we do not know if we can get a response or not. thanks for sharing and have a nice day!

It all depends on the day for me actually. I know there are days were I can think of some great discussions and therefore I'll take the time and start them hoping they'll be the ones to get me at least 10 responses, if not the 30-40 I've seen a few of mine get because that is a great increase in my earnings, especially when I started replying back and forming conversations.
But if I want it to be a slow day and I don't have anything important to start, I'm not going to start a random stupid discussion that isn't even worthwhile. Instead I will focus on replying to other discussion but making sure they're still longer in length and full of details and descriptions so I'm earning the most out of it.
But one of my pet peeves in the users that have a tendency to post 5 discussions right in a row because how do you keep up with all the responses? Or are you just posting a discussion just to start one and you really don't care what people have to say?

i think making a conversation in one discussion makes us to have a good earnings. I have heard that from other members of the site. So it is very important that when you make a discussion, then someone has responded, you can make a comment on it, and so on and so forth. am i right?thanks for sharing!

I much prefer to respond to discussions as opposed to writing my own. I like to help people and I can do this by responding to people. I also have loads to say, I have posted a few discussions I'm not very good at writing though so never really know what to say, I am good at just saying whats on my mind, which I can do when I see a good discussion.

Me too! I like responding more because I find it more interesting to find the discussions and read other users' responses. Plus, I'm not so creative anymore when it comes to making my own discussions. I just came back to mylot a few days ago so I'm rusty.

Yes.making new discussion is not as easy as eating peanut. you really have to think on the details that you are going to put for you to catch the attention of the other members.

Hello RBeron, I prefer the same, i respond to an existing discussion rather than to post my own questions, not unless I really needed an answer or suggestion of members here about something I wanted to know.
If there is a question I would like to pop, i would also search it hear first before I post. I don't like redundancy, but if the thread started posted a topic which is sounding like mine, i would only respond to that topic rather than to create my own topic. But if I don't seem to find the topic the same with mine, then I would post it anyway.
This also depends if how much time do I have on Mylot. If I have much, i still would post or respond to members topic rather than I composing my own topic here.Happy Mylotting.

I also do not want redundant discussion. I never seen in all the responses that they want to make discussion, almost all your answer is just only one. to respond to discussion.

I prefer to post responses to discussions, versus starting my own discussions. It s easier for me to post responses, becauser it doesn't take as much thinking to post responses as it does to starting discussions. It is very hard to come up with at topic in the discussions that people would be interested in posting to. I have had a few discussions that only got 1 response, which is better than nothing, but I was hoping for more than that. At least I don't have any with 0 responses, and I am glad about that too. I enjoy posting responses, as I can see how others responses compare to mine and we can all see what each other is thinking, sometimes the same way, and sometimes not. I just love mylot. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I do much more responding than discussion creation. There's so much variety to respond to. Additionally, I don't want to become one of those people who just post for the sake of it. I'd rather wait until I feel I have a good topic to post. And it's also important to check back on your discussions and comment on responses. However, as long as we're posting quality, I don't think it matters what we do.

okay, it is a good point of yours of saying that posting just for the sake to say that you have a post. Our posts should be a quality one and can get the interest of other people.

Hi rberon,
Actually I prefer to post a discussion. There is a lot in my mind that I want to ask. But unfortunately I didn't know how to come up with a good discussion or that question have been asked. So, I end up with just giving a response. But lately I hardly find a discussion where I love to involved. I had to give a response because I hope I can get my payout before end of this month.
Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

It would also be nice and better if the response that you make was marked as best response. It only means to say that your discussion is being appreciated.
