I personally do not believe in fortune-tellers simply because I can't trust my life, fortune or future to a human being just like me. I believe only God has the control of our lives.
But I have nothing against those who believe in fortune-tellers. In fact, most of my folks men still believe in them. I guess, it is culture. And I don't question culture because it has been there long before I was born.
How about you? Do you believe in fortune-tellers?

No, never.. Its good being a believer of God. Itsn't gud when you are a mad believer of everything.
Fortune tellers are just selfish people who take advantage of the moral weakness of people.. without any scientific or even practical backing..
In my culture many do believe in these (or they are forced to).. but I'm stubborn at my point that there is no sense in believing fortune-tellers.

Thanks Aravindkrd for responding to this thread. It is never wrong to decide not to believe on something you think is not worth-believing at all. I see positively why you choose not to believe. It is your life and you have all the freedom in this world to decide for yourself. You do not need to believe because others are into it.... I salute you on your strong self-disposition!
Happy mylotting my friend!

Hey Sweeten I love your view regarding this matter. Just believe in yourself and in your god. The best tool to guide you in this life is yourself; no one can dictate nor manipulate your future.

Fortune-tellers, do you believe?
Hello my friend Chrissa, Sorry to say this but I really do not believe in fortune tellers. I believe that I will make my own fortune/future based upon good solid decisions. I don't need nobody to tell what's inside of my heart because nobody knows that other than me and God. Since the beginning of time there have been people that claim they can predict the future. Tell you your fortune and whatnot. But if they could do all of that. Then why aren't they living a better life. I guess that would have be my question to them? Happy mylot!

Fortune tellers.........
Hello Chrissa, thanks for your response. I was able to speak from experience. A few times in my past I did go to a fortune teller. It was back when I was a young adult. I had a little spare pocket change and didn't know what to do with it so I figured I would go and give some of it to the fortune teller. Well long story short it all turned out to be just about money. Once you mess up and give it to them the first time, they will keep on coming back for more and more. So I had to learn to be more careful. If we want guidance in life. God says in his word that we can come to him in prayer and he will tell us anything that we need to know. As a matter of fact. Back in the latter pages of the bible, it give us a strong warning to stay away from fortune tellers. And people that claim they can see the future. Nobody really knows our future but God. Anyhow, you are right, we are both on the same page. Please add me as a friend and we can chat about it some more through Pm's, Happy mylot.

I also don't believe in fortune tellers, and i am against those who believe in it.It is their choice to believe in those things.Every ountry has it's own cultures and traditions about fortune tellers. And they differ with what kind of medium they were using on telling fortunes.some uses cards, palms, writings, astrology, numbers and a lot of things.
But i only believe in God,we are given freewill to do what we wanted to do in our own lives,God will always be there to guide us but at the end,it is our choice wether to be good or bad.
Have a great day my friend.

Yes dear, our life is our choice, no one can dictate our lives. The results of our actions all depend on the choices that we make, and not because it is what the fortune-teller tells us.
Thanks for the response. Happy mylotting!

hi chrissa808! nope! i do not believe in fortune-tellers because they are all bogus people. they only want to extort money from you so they tell you what you want to hear. if they can really see the future, i'm sure by now they would have already made a fortune for themselves. most of them are not even educated. i'm sure they never saw that in their future? hahaha! so how can they tell the future?
on a biblical perspective too the bible tells us to be wary of such people. only God knows the future and those whom he has revealed it to a few men in the bible. for His own purpose and glory. happy mylotting!

True! Only God holds our life, our future and no other human being can, only Him! I still can't imagine why people do forsake others just to make money. Deception has always been in our societies ever since. How I wish there is an end to that!happy mylotting buddy!

Fortune telling, astrology, numerology and the stuff like that are sciences and nothing more than that. Although some individuals have intuitive powers which can be great help in ascertaining the future contingencies all cannot claim to have such powers. There are certain laws or rules which govern the working of these systems. Now for instance, you would not deny the law of gravity, would you? Even if we don't know all the scientific jargon we would surely believe that gravity exists on earth. In the same way we cannot deny their knowledge of future which are based on certain calculations. Some may prove to be self-fulfilling prophecies and some a mere farce.
Although I don't personally have faith in these individuals I do not see any harm in accepting their advice on matters which are of importance to us.

I respect your stand on this matter. If you accept their advice, and you believe that it might bring you anything good, then go on. There is nothing wrong with that because you have the freedom of choice. You can always have the choice to pick up or not to pick up those pieces of advice. Thank you and happy mylotting!

Definitely not! I don't believe anyone can tell our future because if they really can tell the future, they should have been rich already! We are the creator of our future, we decide for it. Whatever we do today, they are just small steps for the future. I wonder why there are people who believe that other person can tell their future?

I honestly do not believe in fortune tellers. I am someone that believes everything will happen on its own when its supposed to. I really don't think anyone is able to tell you your life or see it for you. Life is also what we all choose and what we all make of it not by what someone tells us.

Sometimes people tell you exactly what you want to hear and it makes you happy. Sometimes people tell you something about the future and maybe it plants that seed in your mind and you seek it out (if a Fortune teller told you that you would grow up to be a famous surgeon, you might start thinking about going to med-school). That's what fortune tellers do.
I think that the people that go to fortune tellers usually get exactly what they want out of it (if it's to prove a fraud, they find it. If it's to find their direction in life, they can be pointed in a direction). But I don't think there is any special gift that people have.

Hello Mizandhk!
Very well said! heheheh I love this response...
When I was a baby, my mom brought me to a fortune-teller. The fortune-teller told my mom that I would be bringing so much joy and prosperity to our family. My mom always told me this, and it has been instilled in my mind....
So whatever I do, I always make sure I give joy to my family and find ways to help them financially too...Not because I believe the fortune-teller, but it has been there in my mind, and I am striving to fulfill that.
I guess it is all a matter of mind-conditioning and mind-setting. Thank you for responding. happy mylotting!

Hello chrissa808,
I take a similar stance to you and the rest of the other posters in this discussion in that I do not believe in fortune-tellers. Just the mere methods that they use to predict our "futures" seem wacky at best, and some are even warned against in the Bible. To me it is pure bogus. However, I do not want to sound rude to those who do believe in it, because everyone is entitled to their opinions and their beliefs. However, I was born and raised in the Christian faith, and as such if I leave all things to God and help myself, then I will have nothing to worry about in the future. I would also save myself heaps of money which these fortune-phonies would otherwise charge me, to touch my palm and concoct some seemingly magnificent "fortune" for me ^.^
Thanks for sharing, and happy myLotting!

i personally do no belive in such things.
I belivve in god and it doesn't require another felow out there to explain what ig gonna happen to me. Many a times he uses a persnon's weakness to take the advantage by telling him that he/she is lucky and will recive some treasure of something like that in the near future if he does this thing and that thing.
So i personally avoid such persons out there and I TRUST GOD!

You have a very positive attitude Heartbeats! I like your attitude and views...
Yes, a lot of people in our society today, make use of other people's weaknesses and innocence of other people just to earn money, which in fact is not right. It is not right to take advantage of one's innocence, ignorance and weaknesses because to me.
I'm glad that you have a firm belief that only God holds the design and control of our life!
Thank you for responding! Happy mylotting!

I think that 99.9% of them are charlatans who are very acute observers of people and who know exactly the right subtle questions to ask.On the other hand I have heard of one or 2 people who appear to genuinely have the gift of second sight. I am a bit sceptical but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a few genuine ones existing. I am a bit more open to the belief that there are some people who are telepathic.

I do not believe in fortune teller. But if you really want to know your fortune in future, maybe you can get some idea from fortune teller, and try to works it out. But not meaning you sit and wait for the fortune to come. Example the lucky is with you next month, then try your effort to work harder. Every one has his lucky day and lucky month.

Yes, I have heard a few people who do this. They go to fortune-tellers and listen to the bright future that awaits for them, and after hearing those, these people get so inspired that they double their effort to reach those foreseen future for them.

i did find a fortune-tellers to predict my future. i don't know whether i really trust or not . Actually when we are not sure about or very disappointed about our future would we go to these fortune-tellers. We like to hear some good words from them which can cheer us up. We don't have the faith to believe in God too. We are not born to have this faith . Now i feel good about my future so i don't go to fortune-tells anymore.

Well as an Indian and a keralite I do believe in people telling some ting of people future. I think it is pure logical and scientific.I have heard that it is full of maths and they tell it by locating the positions of the planets and sun and the stars.
But now a days people who really know this is rare and many are fake.I don't believe fully what they tell.

Hi Chrissa,
I bit disagree with you, I believe in numerology and it really worked for me most of the times. And I am surprised with your statement that "men still believe in them" along with men there are lot women also belive in fortune tellers,May be their belief in fortune tellers is driving them to their success or there may some truth in words of fortune tellers.
Do you believe in supernatural powers or you ever experienced sixth sense? every human being has an limit of his imagination and only few people can go and think beyond the imagination. I am not supporting fortune tellers, but may be they have higher imagination power which helps them to foresee the future of the concerned person, intern which may be accurate or might not be!

Hello Naveen!,
The world "folksmen" does not exclusively pertain to the male gender. It denotes the general population same as that of countrymen, fellowmen etc.
I respect your opinion, and if you believe in numerology since it has worked on you, then I do not question that. That is your choice and you are free to embrace to what you believe.
As I have said, this discussion is made to know opinions and beliefs regarding the topic. Every one is entitled for his own opinion.
Thank you. Happy mylotting!
