I use some contractions when I send text messages. tks= thanks, 88==bye bye, asp=as quick as possible.... Use abbreviations during sending text messages is very convenient. I'm glad that I learned some abbreviations from your topic, thank you very much. Have a nice day!

I'm a Chinese student, and my classmates and i don't use shortcuts like that.you use a few letters to stand for a word but we use a few words to stand for a sentence! It's common that there is only one word in our message~~

Text shortcuts is well known especially to those people who are addict4ed of texting. Back in College, I was sort of addicted to text, which during that time like most people text in a very short way as possible. Like with your given examples, it seems those are abbreviation, but referring to a shortcut way "wud b sort of lyk ths" "u mke wrds typd in a shrtway posible as long as its ridable, ths myt b a gud exmple isnt?" This doesn't make your texting faster but takes a bit short time to do this. But as for me, I always wanted to keep my things aws what they are, I try to avoid doing shortcuts 'cause sometimes it makes your spelling suck.
