the internet is the best place for learning. however, there were a lot of sites in the internet nowadays that displays pornographic scenes and obscure information in which should be hidden from kids.

Hey,
Well if I would have children, I personally wouldn't let them to go on the computer until they would probably be about 12 years old. Because you never know what bad pop-ups and other things might appear in front of their eyes. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Blocking your child from material on the website that you deem inappropriate will only go so far.
I make it a point to not restrict any access on my son's personal computer. (Even though my husband is a network admin and could easily do this) Why? Because he has to learn what he should and shouldn't be looking at. By letting him browse and figure out what the 'good' sites are and what the 'bad' sites are..not only is he gaining useful computer experience..but hopefully when he goes to "little billy's" house - he will apply the same common sense that he uses at home, because I know a lot of parents who have no idea how to use a computer, let alone restrict accesses on one.
