Today i was pawing through my mail and knoticed that i have been selected for jury duty....this is my first time, and usually i am the one on the stand...lol..the case i cant say too much about but involved an aleged rape....this hits me personally in the heart, and i still dont quite know how to feel about going through with it...
im wondering have any of you ever been chosen for jury duty?? Did your consideration lead you to get emotionally involved with the case??? how did this affect you, and who you are???

I've only ever known one person who was selected for jury duty - and the only reason he was selected is because he is a minority and they were trying to uh, diversify the court room. He said it was very interesting because some of the jurors didn't care at all. It was a case about a man who tried to slit his wife's throat I believe. He because a little emotionally involved in it, whereas the old guy next to him said, "I can't believe they are paying me fourty bucks just to say this guy is guilty."

Yeah, I think they ended up finding the guy guilty. It was a really strong case against him. But, still. I can't believe someone would just think that. Honestly, some people are so dumb.
