Plants love mulch and the benefits of mulching is it reduces evaporation from the soil surface which compete with the plants for water and nutrients.

That is a very interesting site, I just bought my own mulcher a few months ago, I am gradually trimming my trees and shrubs back and am planning to put mulch all around my garden, thank you for the information...

I usually use natural compost for mulching my garden. Sometimes the bagged mulch at the store is mildewed. Besides, why pay for something that is free. Good mulch can be as simple as grass clippings, dried leaves, twigs or bark. You can recycle by using shredded up newspaper as a light mulch.
