Our Lord's making of a disciple is supernatural. He does not build on any natural capacity at all. God does not ask us to do things that are easy to us naturally. He only ask us to do things we are perfectly pitted to do by His grace. We can commit to follow Jesus, but not by trusting in ourselves to keep that commitment. We need His grace and we have to be dependent on Him. We can't do anything without Him on our side. Did you know about the story of a child who has to cross on a bridge with Jesus? The child was so sacred an ask to hold Jesus hand. But Jesus instead hold the child's hand. You know why jesus did that? Because He wanted to give up the assurance that what ever happens, Jesus would not let us down, and he will never leaves us. Unlike if we we're the ones who will hold His. We might lose from holding when some instances happens. He loves us and He really cares for us. GBU!
