My friend's computer is in trouble, she ask for help. but my knowledge in computer is very limited. I visited and searched already some forums but I can't find the exact situation experienced by others. This is the problem:
Every time we turn on the computer an error occurred "The application is failed to initialize because the windows is shutting down." Shutting down automatically...
Do you have any idea or solution that can fix this problem?
Thanks for the response!

I think, she must have damaged or accidentally deleted an important Windows components the last it was running good... A repair will do most likely as it is impossible to get access to System Restore or @ least a Disk Check Error... Insert the OS installation CD & do a repair by following the on-screen guides & menu.

A repair won't delete your current installed apps and files...It will only repair the damaged Windows components... if unsure, provide or borrow an empty hard disk drive where you can freshly installed an OS & saved all your files in the new drive but this will take more time...Again, repairing won't harm your files....but there is no other alternative to open it. Did you try logging in Safe Mode? maybe you could do that...if it does...post back a reply.

Before repairing the OS, try the "reader ' configuration as mentioned in the thread at the link http://www.techsupportforum.com/microsoft-support/windows-xp-support/218120-solved-application-failed-initialize-because-windows-station-shutting.html.
It seems this issue had been resolved with this configurations a they have mentioned that Adobe reader can be a cause for this. Otherwise and uninstall and reinstall it properly and don't forget to restart the systems while you add or remove such software.

But how can he have access to his desktop? when he can't seem to open his PC, during start up it shut downs immediately... Making it impossible to disable any unwanted error reporting in his desktop...If system is only loading well even if there's error reporting then this problem can be solve easily... but it's not!

kumarpslv, yes i did try visiting forums and technical supports but no luck! the situation is different i can't access to the control panel, less than a minute the windows system shuts down automatically, no time to uninstall the Adobe reader. But at least i have the idea now when it happens again....response appreciated!
Thank you!

Hey,
I am not sure what the problem is either, but one thing is for sure, a critical Windows System file has been damaged. But unfortunately I have no idea how to fix it, sorry about this. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

i think the antivirus accidentally delete the infected windows file, its better to restore your friend's computer actually restore does not delete the files it just restore the previous good working condition..you can restore using the os disc as well as repair disc which is available free in the net......
