State holidays

United States

I'm in Utah for the summer working to earn money for college and today (Friday the 24th of July) is Pioneer Day - a state celebrated holiday. Apparently, this holiday is bigger than the fourth of July here in Utah. I went and watched fireworks on the Fourth and I thought it was a pretty good fireworks show. So I suppose tonight's show will be even more amazing. I was just wondering if other states had state specific holidays. I had never heard of Pioneer day before (I'm not from Utah), and so I thought to myself, hey, what if other states have random holidays? So go ahead, tell me about them!
