Giddy? happy? Sad that it over? want more? I feel kinda giddy happy when i finish a good book. Doesn't a book cheer you up and make you happy? its one of the greatest feelings we get. But i always want to read more. what happens after that. I think the authors should write more on what happens after everything is good and settled. (i of course mainly read paranormal romance) How do you feel?

Hi dex 1007. I couldn't recall if I have read a paranormal romance. Care to give a title or an author? Anyways, the feelings differ depending upon the good book you've read. They say Lord of the Flies is good and classic. I wouldn't give it a second reading. Les Miserables literally made me cry but I felt good after closing the book.

paranormal romance? hmmm... try kresley cole's 'immortal's after dark' series or J.R ward's 'Black Dagger brotherhood' series. but i recently was reading Gaelen foley's One night of Sin, that made me ask this question, after the book ended i felt very happy and giggly. (and i don't giggle. much.) lol. you should try reading them. of course its different for every person, so you might not like it as much as i did. but thanks your answer. :)

I feel good after finishing a book. More so the fact that I accomplished in finishing it. I read a lot, so basically after I finish one, I am starting another one within 15 minutes. Reading relaxes me; I basically like reading true crime books by Ann Rule.

huh????? The reason I said accomplish is because most times I do not finish a book if I get bored of it. Granted there are some good books out there but if you start to read one and your strive to make it to the next page you push yourself to read it. But I would say in the end it ended up being a good book.

I'm generally kind of sad to know I've now got to find a new book, one that might not be as good as the last one - on the other hand, if I've really enjoyed the book, and am happy with the ending, I will savor it in my memory too. Giddy? I'm not a "giddy" sort of person....

Reading is an alternative for travel. I read novels in a way to travel in time and space. When I finish reading a book, I feel coming back from a trip.

if i just finished reading a good book, i actually feel kind of lost. to find a good book is definitely not easy. the process of reading a good book is really enjoyable. so when i'm finished, i cannot help but feel lost because it's hard to find another good book. reading it again will not bring the same kind of elation. this is why i actually feel lost after finishing a good book that is hard to come by.

when you do find a good book, cherish it. I don't know if reading it slowly is good or not. because then we'll be making conscious effort in slowing down and won't enjoy the book to the fullest. thanks for sharing anyway. :)

When I am getting close to the end of a good book, I read slower and less often because I know when I get to the end, it's over. I can always read it again (which is why I hardly ever go to the library, I just buy the books I want to read ) but it's sad when a good book ends, even if it has a happy ending. Especially the last book of a series.

Hello dex, I always like to have a good book on the go. However when I find a book I consider to be fantastic and lose myself in it completely I hate the thought that it will end, I keep checking that there's still lots of pages to go and start to feel sad that it is going to end, especially if it is a true story where the author has so much more to say. If the events have moved me I want to find out how things turned out in the future, how their life continued. In those cases I long for a sequel and on some of my favourites that's happened. I would describe the feeling as bereft when a truly great book ends.

When it's a fiction book I have much the same reaction. I'm all pleased and a bit giddy, especially if the book turned out in a way I enjoyed. If it was a book that I enjoyed, but viewed as simply 'a good book' then I'm usually satisfied when it ends. Now if it was something more then just 'a good book' even if it was only 'a very good book' then I'm going to get that feeling of okay where's the next one. At that point I didn't want it to end and so I always feel a little disappoint that that's it, there's no more. It's why I sometimes read fanfiction, because then it's like the story didn't end and I get more. Of course the writer has to be good, but finding a good one can really be worth it sometimes.

ooo.. you are one of those harry potter fans who read the fan fictions more. I have a sister who thinks the fan fictions are better than the book. Some of the fan fictions.

I always feel accomplished when I finish a good book. I also feel really good. It's so weird isn't it. When I finish a good book I always want to read more. It's a great way to keep reading. The only thing is, you can't find a really good book, until you read it.

yes! it is weird. but its one of the most wonderful feeling in the world. i guess i feel like i just lived this life(the book) and now that it all ended good, i want my real life to end up good too. and i don't know... i'll just be happy all day. the problem is i usually end up reading till late at night, so i guess i sleep very happy. The secret is to keep reading i guess. every book is worth being read once. my mom used to tell me when i was a kid.
