I know gaining knowledge is the best thing in life. But still , i beleive everyone at one point or other gets fed up with studies,(though i know some are always fed up...).
I did my Post graduation, and then i had free time so my hubby suggested me to go for PHD, and that was a limit to me, i simply said NO, i can't study any more... But i have friends in the medical line, and in IT sector that go on studying all their lives.., and they enjoy it too...
What's your views??

I don't really like the idea of study, study, and study. My husband is a study person. He is doing his PHed in Geography now. I have done my post graduation and after that I have decided to stop studying and going for work. I am in need of money so I don't think I can't simply study now. I have seen many middle aged and old people who study going for night colleges along with their work.

nehaagra, I love to study.. I can go on and on if it's not by the cost of study. I find when we study, it's so much stress less compared to working. I will be one day do my Post grad or even PhD too... but PhD are labelled as Permanent Head Damage, LOL... maybe too much study to gain that title ya :) Happy MyLotting

Here are a few Zen Stories.
"Too rushed to learn
A young man went into the deep mountains to ask a master to teach him swordsmanship. He asked the master how long it would take to learn, to which the master replied "ten years". The young man said "my father is getting old, and I need to take care of him. If I am very diligent in learning, how long will it take?"The master replied "That way will take thirty years". The young man was even more anxious. "First you said ten years, now you say thirty years. I don't care how much hardship I have to bear, I must learn it in the shortest amount of time." The master replied "In that case, it will take seventy years".
Too full to learn
A scholar visited the monk Nanyin to ask him about Zen. Nanyin offered some tea to his guest, but he continued pouring even after the cup was full. After a short while, the scholar could not stand it any longer and said "the cup is already full! Stop pouring!". Nanyin replied "You are just like this cup, full of your views and opinions. If you do not empty your cup first, how can I tell you about Zen?""
