Do you agree this fact.Even though the cartoons like tom and jerry looks funny to watch, they are full of violence. The cat and the mice attack each other violently and kids are eager to do it in real. They don't know the pain and they learn to laugh when somebody cries out of pain.that is what the cartoon shows them.Should not cartoons come out more informative and educative for the kids?Share your ideas.

That is the worst part of cartoons. They teach excitement and fun seeing others being hurt.Actually they have to be taught sympathy towards the ailing persons but it is not like that. So,how can we expect kindness and understanding from the younger generation in the future? Most cartoon shows are spoiling the little minds of the kids.

no i think the kids understand thats all pretend but they
see dad push mom around,or they get slapped for asking A
question,or they see the neighbors fight, that they Absorb
really deeply. a child that sees his mom being pushed around
often grows up to beat his wife and kids.

Yes!Kids are good observers in their early life and they try to imitate what elders did, in their future. So,adults should be more careful in front of the kids and they should not ignore them watching. But cartoons catches the kids eyes more and their minds are corrupted with violence and they are not aware of the pain involved in getting hurt. That is my anticipation.Cheers!

My brothers and I grew up with those sorts of cartoons. None of us are violent in nature in any way. Our parents taught us how to be and we learned early on that tv was fictional. It isn't the cartoons at all...it is the parents who need to teach their kids how to be and not only that...show them by example. If a kid watches tomand jerry and gets violent as a result.....some serious issues are going on at home. You can't blame tv...blame the people.

Yes!parents should hold the responsibility to teach their kids what is fiction and what is not.We learn from our elders than the tv.If they are good role models, then we can be influenced by them more. But we can't put aside the violence in cartoon shows, which tried at least once will result fatal.Cheers!

Not all cartoons are violence. I hope so. My nieces and nephews learned how to speak English from watching cartoons. They imitate exactly what they hear so they speak with a bit of western slang.

Okay! That is one good thing cartoon can help.Learning good English. But this Tom and Jerry cartoons need no language and the cat and mouse seldom speaks. It is completely action oriented and 90%of the time is full of chasing and beating the other. So,I see violence more.We can learn good English at school. At the same time we need not learn violence at home.Cheers!

May be you are right. My kid likes to watch Tom & Jerry when he was young.I think the babies may not know deep in the story. I don't think this story will be violence for children. However the cartoons should teach the morals to children.

Well, they can't go deep into the story. What they see is the cat and the mouse striking each other violently and planning to outwit each other with cruel ideas.Everything is depicted with hilarious comedy. But that is understood by the adult mind and not the young kids who don't know how the pain will be when hit like that.I believe that cartoons are meant for kids and it should teach goods morals. But nothing like that in this money world.Cheers!

all cartoons/movies follow one theme - good always wins and evil always loses. so i assume this message gets across and deters kids to go to the wrong side of society. it might also imply that if you fight for the good cause you are a hero. that's just my viewpoint.

See,cartoons are for kids and they can teach them good morals through animal stories. There are more fables and parables that can be animated for kids wherein they can be good tutors at home. This Hero and Villain concept is in the films too.Kids don't need that is my opinion.Cheers!

i agree, we don't see these things when we're younger but as you get older you can see things better. i personally find the simpsons and king of the hill better to watch. they have a meaning behind them somewhere, that is more useful like church is not necsillary a bad thing or having morals and sticking to them.
i don't like any of the new cartoons out, eg billy and mandy it's just rubish. (sorry for those who like the show)

Grown up adults can distinguish between the violence and joke and we can filter out the joke and laugh at it.But kids will not be able to separate violence and they don't know how the pain will be when hurt,as shown in cartoons. It is high time kids should be shown moral stories alone in cartoons.Cheers!

Most of the cartoons nowadays is not educative. It is really full of violence, unlike before during our time, almost all the cartoons are educative and we learn a lot of lessons back then. Today, when your child will be watching a cartoon, it needs to be guided. And it is very important to remind him that they should not do it.we all know that children are great imitators, so we should be very careful. we should guide them from time to time to avoid problems.

Well said!Kids are good imitators and they try to imitate cartoon characters which are their favorite. But it is not appreciated as the present day cartoons teach more violence than morals. And we can't be all the time near them to guide them. The cartoon world should hold responsibility to teach good morals and provide educational information to kids.Visual media has more exposure and they should not misuse it.Cheers!

Of course, they can influence kid to act more aggressive and without parental guidance they may imitate it. Parents should not leave their child to watch cartoons movies alone and should even explain to them that it is done only for entertaining. the violence which a child see is an animation and it is not good to imitate it. It is really the reality we could ot always screening every cartoons movies that child watch. You could cover up or explain the bad sides in your own house but not every time especially if the kids is out with your neighbors friends and watch it to their house. All need here is to constantly advice child that they are movies and things being done by their favorite cartoon character is not true but a work of the scriptwriter. In this way we could be assure that they will watch for fun and not too advocate violence.

A nice and better idea from your side.Allowing them to watch under parental guidance and let them be advised what is what,so that they should not try it in real life. But,is it possible to be near your kids always when they watch cartoons. Most of the parents leave them in front of the tv and just go for their house hold works.in that case, how are the kids supposed to learn?

True. They not only learn violence but much more impolite things which will not be appreciated in the outer world. If they try to behave like cartoon characters, then they will be complained for their mischief.Cartoons,if they are to teach good morals among kids, then it is more welcome. But the present day situation is not like that.Cheers!

i don't think so .cartoon is a mean to entertainment .it must have many japes in it .and for kids if they are so little their parents should wath cartoon with them to tell kids that is not correct.and if the kid is enough old they also know what is wrong or not.we shouldn't be so nervous about this .we never heard some guys who crime by watch cartoon such as Tom and Jerry!

No!I don't say kids will do crimes watching Tom and Jerry. But they misunderstand the violent actions in the shows.Young kids will not know the consequences of such heavy blows and they are mislead that they can recover soon from such blows. So,if they are corrupted in their tender hearts like that who is to guarantee they will not try it in real? That is my anxiety.

Yes . Nowadays our kids are more mature than their parents generation. They learn a lot from TV especially from watching cartoons . Our kids learn everything they can get from TV . They act just like adults . They know what's the love between adults lovers , they know how to attack their friends, they know how to make a bad competition to get what they wanted.

Yes!As they impart everything easily from tvs, then the tv shows especially cartoons should be more responsible for the sake of the future generation.Kids learn quickly and their young minds should not be filled with wrong ideas. They don't understand the exaggeration in cartoons. So,either the shows should change themselves or the parents should be near the kids every time the kids watch tv.Cheers!
