Opening Two Tabs For Mylot, A Violation Or Not??

No, opening multiple tabs in MyLot is quite in order. You are logged on as one user and on a single PC so, as far as MyLot is concerned, you are in a single session. The only problem you might experience is that, if you have the same discussion open in different tabs, you will not see any updates you have made in one tab appear on the other until you refresh that discussion. It would be a violation, of course, to copy and paste identical responses to multiple discussions or anything like that but that is a different matter which is covered in the Guidelines.

its not part of mylot TOS my fried so its just fine opening two or more tabs if you like. well i am into it and i am having fun. but sometimes i must be careful as not to post the comments and discussions wrongly. so i guess we could not be banned or we are not making any violations. lets just have fun and keep mylotting. jhelai

You have already found out that it is not against the rules, and it is a great way to go about navagating mylot as well. I open multiple tabs all of the time and go back and forth...Sometimes I have to have two tabs when i respond to a long topic, I have to have the page open in another tab to go back and refer to as I am typing out my own response. otherwise I get all scatter brained trying to remember what was said.

I think you already have the answer by now. It's not a violation, but if you have more than one mylot account, then it is..happy lotting..

I just search in myLot TOS, FAQs and guidelines and i did not fond any relation or sentences you post above. i think opening more tabs than one is not violation. However, you can make a lot of responses or commenting at single time because it is more faster to post than usually ..

I opened two tabs now, and suddenly I see your topic. What a coincidence. Good that it's not a violation. Actually I was a little bit worried after I read your message. Thinking this could be a problem.

It is no violation. I sometimes open two tabs on mylot, especially if I get a friend request and want to look at their profile or when there is another interest that crops up that I was waiting for the chance to answer. I do find at times it is rather slow and so I usually prefer to just have one mylot tab opening because of that.

Hi rberon. I know what you mean. I use Mozilla Firefox 3 and when I go to myLot, I usually open more than 2 tabs. I've been doing this for almost a year or maybe over a year since I joined here, and since I use MF3. I don't find any wrong doing this, as long as you will not log-in to myLot with more than one account at one time. It's good to have multi-tabs in browsers as we can open multiple sites, makes us more productive in our work... Neil

Hey buddy! What is making you think that there is relation between using myLot and opeing multiple tabs? Did you find any such thing in myLot TOS? Why is it supposed to be? You are starting a new discussion, or you are replying to other's discussion -what is the problem with myLot you are doing it by opening 2 or 200 tabs? Don't worry! If your processor and RAM can support, open 2K Tabs! No problem.

No it isn't and I've done it before. Can get a little confusing at times, but I had on tab open on recent discussions and one for friends started - was responded through both tabs too. It's not in violation - as long as you can keep your tabs straight! LOL

That is really new to me, I haven't done anything like that so far. I don't know for sure. you can review the FQA for questions like that, or you can refer to site administrator for this type of question. Sorry, I can't help much here.

I don't think it will be a violation when your opening more than one tabs for responses, bcoz there may be interesting discussion's for which we cant go back to home login of your account and respond to that discussion. It could be better way if you opt to open another window or tab, which helps you in reducing the time and providing a good rated response. Happy mylot.

I don't think its a violation of a TOS on myLot because they wouldn't allow you to do it if it was. The opening of another window is just out of convenience and its based out of the browser you use not the website that you use. Thats something that myLot can't control as far as the web browsers goes.

Nah mate its not a violation as your not using two accounts to post, two tabs is fine because you are still technically making 1 post per tab if you get what i mean :).

There is no problem doing that. In fact I have done that before a couple of times. It was during that times when mylot took very long time to download due to my internet connection. So what I did was open a lot of tabs with mylot and responded to them one by one. It did save me time. But now, I only use one since my internet connection is quite fast and downloading time is quite okay.

Hi rberon, I guess you know now that it is not a violation to open more than one tab on mylot. I myself open about 5 or 6 tabs at one time. This is how I go about doing it. I run through the home page for topics that are of interest to me and start opening them in different tabs. It takes awhile for them to load up anyway so by the time i open 6 tabs, the first one has completely load up and ready for me to respond to the discussion. When it takes a lot of time to load up again when you post it, I will move to another tab. It helps me save time that way. But you have to be a multi-tasker to do this, moving back and forth from one discussion to another. I can complete more discussions by opening more tabs at any one time. Try it! And time yourself...

Oh it's not a violation. It is actually your strategy to open new tabs so that you can post more. And it works. (and your sharing it, huh...) However, you just make sure you don't get yourself mixed up with the tabs. You might post a reply to a different discussion, and that's where you violate the rules. Happy posting, calyxus

Well as many have said i also don't think that its a violation of any sort as we are within the same site only. I open as much as 5 tabs sometimes. When i see some discussions of my interest i go on opening in a tab then after that i start responding to each one. In fact it saves much time also. And yes no mention of anything in the guidelines too. So nothing to worry.

rberon1985, I always open more than a tab for MyLot as this will let me have the ease of not accidentally close the whole program. I don't think it's a violation though.. :) Happy MyLotting

Hey, I always do that everytime I log in and there's no problem,,hahaha^^,, one tab for task and other tab for discussion or one tab for view profile page of many user here (lol) and other for discussion. It doesn't violate of the rules here, so it's ok! Just do it so you can do or find discussion faster^^,, Happy myloting too!
