Have you ever wanted to pen down a story but it just never began and never ended?
I have like a gazillion ideas / plots in my head. But i just can never get it down proper on paper. It's funny. When i attempt, the words just eludes me.
I think i'm better at reading instead.
What about you?

I feel the same way sometimes. Though I have a lot of ideas for a story, it gets jumbled up and never seems right on paper. I feel I give too much detail, or too little. I want the readers to feel what I feel, though I don't want them to be bored. There are a lot of different ideas and exercises to be found online, and other things such as story plot generators that can either help or hinder the story writing process.

Online and I guess some are cheesier then others and may not be beneficial, but they did help me a bit when I was in a rut... One of the ones I can think of I believe is called Seventh Sanctum but I can't be sure that's the name!

Yeah, I'v written Harry and his friends' story after the fifth book of Harry Potter's series but I didn't continue coz the sixth book came out soon just before I finished mine.haha.Now the unfinished one still kept on my bookshelf and it's my first novel in my life.

Hi, I used to have some amazing dreams, and as soon as I started to write down what happened in a story, it used to just disappear from me and I couldnt find the words! but i found that if I wrote a few notes, I could actually write a poem to describe the dream or how I felt in it, much clearer than writing a full blown story :)I would love to write an epic but cant seem to fill in those descriptive gaps or pad it out enough to make sense without being boring...Im working on animations at the moment, which is again based on a dream, but thats ok because you only include the interesting bits lol..perhaps try and get your creative side out in a different way..like poetry?

yes. i always have a dream to be a writer. in fact i'm seriously thinking to make the dream come true for now.
i'm trying to write a novel based on my real life. it started two months ago. because i use english to write i feel a little difficult, so it does slowly.
i have to make change again and again.
however it's my direction. i do it like a snail but always put it forward.
thanks computer's inventation now it's a lot easier to write.

it's good you have the ambition.
for me, it's not really my passion. Just that i have a gazillion ideas following through my head. And sometimes i wonder if i were to put them down in words i might not be where i am today. HAah. you know one of those random thoughts.

I sometimes feel the same way. Whenever I get a great idea, I think about it for a while, then I sit down to write. When I try to get the words out, they fail me, or I just don't get very far. I've been semi-successful a few times and seem to do all right with short stories and poems. Novels are about a billion times harder, and they're what I'm an epic failure at completing (or barely starting).

Hello regal_aeros!
I have always wanted to have a book published. I have written a couple of stories already. The problem is that I have never published any of them. Of course, one day, I would like to have at least one of my stories published.

I love to write. Like you, I used to feel that I could never actually write a story. My advice to you is to do just that. Sit down and put words on paper. Doesn't really matter whether they're relevant right now. Just create a character and I think that you will find that the character will lead you to the story. In final form, my stories are rarely what I envision them to be when I first sat down to write it. I finished my first novel in June and just got an agent to represent it two weeks ago. Best of luck to you.

I had some in my mind but they ended up there itself. Lol, not actually story but they were the my experiences and things I have witnessed. Many times, when I sit down relaxing such things strike my mind, like why not to write these things down somewhere so that they are easy to retrieve and moreover it feels good when you read them later on.

I used to write short mystery stories all the time. That drifted off as I got older. Now I find myself in the opposite shoes. I want to write, I YEARN to have something to put on paper, I just can't think of anything that I want to write. There have been a couple times when I've been struck with an idea. And those stories come out great, just flow right out of me. If I try to write a story that hasn't "struck" me, it usually comes out like crap. I know the best way to be "struck" would be write more, I just hate writing when I feel it's crap.
I have a friend who is like you, and has stories gallore in his head, and just doesn't find the time to write them. I joke that we should partner up.

so in other words, you've managed to get your imagination down into words for your horror novel?
Mind sharing what is the title? Might catch it on bookhive. =)

I would never want to write a story because am sure that I do not have the skills to write one. You'll need brains, good grammar and creativity to write a successful story. I think I lack all three of them!!!

I do write short stories. Longer ones are a bit of a problem for me. I get lost in thought. You're right, if you have one too many ideas, it'd be hard to focus on one and write about it. But it never hurt anyone to try, right? :-)

That's why I enjoy writing short stories - can get my thoughts/ideas on paper before ADD sets in and I move on to something else. I've written several stories this way and have list of 100 more I just need to find time to write - few more minutes on myLot and that's what I'll be working on, new short story.

yes, I do want to write my own story, but the words are all in my head, I never had the courage to write even a single letter. Maybe someday when I am not busy I will find the courage to start my own fiction books. I admire other authors, they are very creative and I, I only day dream. LOL

I do a couple of different things when it comes to writing. First, I keep a notebook of story ideas and plots. I outline them and then later when it is quiet I look through them and work on story lines. I also carry a micro cassette recorder with me to dictate the plots and story lines into it while I am driving. It helps a lot.
I have written a story that went with my limited edition bears, and was well received. I also am writing a fiction/nonfiction novel about having my daughter and her family living with me for a period of time and the things I went through with them.
Keep trying. I have read several books that made me realize that my plots and attempts are as good or better than the books I've read.

In mant times also have the ideas of writting a story, but also never write them. It is hard for me to write tnem, because it seems when I want to write them, the stories disappear,Maybe I am impressed by life experience and I only want to express the ideas of life by the way of stories. I believe what I really want to do is to keep some idears in logic form but not write stories.

Yes, I have always wanted to write stories. Always. I have a few ideas and have already penned some of them down. But the problem is that I don't get enough of time to take story writing more seriously :(
But I definitely would like to become a good storyteller be it on print or the internet. I dream about becoming an author many people would admire. Lets see if I had it in me. Only time can tell if that will become a reality.
